Free Music Review: good...but same ol' same ol'

Lindsey is a killer songwriter/producer/guitarist...a TRUE Hall of Famer. However...his last 3 or 4 albums (including the fleetwood mac album "say you will") have all had a similar vibe to them. He is recycling the same guitar riffs and techniques over and over on these albums. It was new and exciting the first couple of times he used them..because they were fast and unique. But its getting a bit tiresome now.Free Music Review: Nothing new here

I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan and also own Buckingham's previous solo album. To me, this release offers nothing new and - dare I say it - sounds too much like a compilation of Fleetwood Mac rejects. The same rhythms, the same sound and the same overall FEEL, if you know what I mean. It's certainly listenable though, but if you're hoping for greatness or something refreshingly new, best to look elsewhere.Free Music Review: somewhat lacking

I hate to be critical to someone whom I deem to be very talented. Maybe I just am not in sync with what he is trying to say anymore. Anyway, I am perplexed over most of the cuts on this album, just as I was on his last one as well. Gorgeous guitar picking does not necessarily mean deep art. Like anybody else, LB's been waiting for that deeper song...which means harmonics, rhythm, and larger structure and not just guitar gymnastics. On this album, a couple of songs rise up in revelation. I have the DVD "Fleetwood Mac Live in Boston.
The music CD "Gift of Screws" disappointed me.
He is not a word smith, as he was too repetitive. His excellent guitar playing, well, it just wasn't like "Big love". To me he's not as good as when he was with FM.
