Free Music Notes for Live in TexasFree Music Review: Still Excellent, Especially Live! Hit: 5 StarsThis is another album I could add to my Linkin Park CD collection, and another good one at that. I was amazed at how beautifully Chester was able to conquer the notes, even with the enourmous crowd and instrument sounds in the background! I was also happy that their last track, "One Step Closer", was basically their remix from Reanimation, because I really like that remix. You know, how things are all heavy and powerful and then they get light and Chester sings about his flesh being weak. *sigh* Absolutely great album. It's also good to hear that Linkin Park is good-spirited, encouraging anyone into music to just go for it. Believe me, you will love this album.
Free Music Review: Linkin Park Rocks Texas Hit: 4 StarsWhat does a band do when they become one of the most popular bands in the country? Release a DVD, of course! And that's what Linkin Park has done with Live In Texas.
Live In Texas includes both a DVD and a CD, so you can either watch them perform on-stage or listen to it in the car. But most people would prefer to pop Hybrid Theory or Meteora into the CD player, since they don't sound as good live. But for performing live, they sound pretty damn close to how they sound on the CDs.
Also, for people who haven't heard Linkin Park before, this CD/DVD combo is perfect for those wanting to get into the band. It includes all their hit songs from both their CDs, including some material from Reanimation as well. But of course, you should definitely check out Hybrid Theory and Meteora afterwords.
Overall, you should get Live In Texas for the DVD. That's where all the real action is. There's no real need to listen to the CD, plus it doesn't have all the tracks from the DVD on it which kinda sucks. But you'll probably never touch the CD so it doesn't really matter. Put in that DVD into your DVD player and rock your socks off! I highly recommend it for any diehard Linkin Park fan.
Free Music Review: Good Fan Material Hit: 3 StarsIt's good for people to be Linkin Park fans because LP comes out with alot of stuff. They have something like 5 albums out now including that JZ one (*rolls eyes*). I listened to this when they were still my favorite band, but didn't know if I was going to buy it since I was beginning to convert to System of a Down who I believed to be a more intelligent band in every aspect of their music. This CD sort of blazes past in a short time, but I guess the DVD makes up for that, even though I haven't seen it. I just don't think that LP sounds very good live without their computer enhancments ;). Chester obviously doesn't have very big lungs, he takes alot of breathers cutting short his endless holds that we hear on the other albums which is sort of an eye opener for some people. Another thing: Mike says "you guys are f**king awsome!" and it's muted. He also says "bulls**t" on reanimation. Why do they mute it? Do they not want PA's? I don't understand. I also don't understand why they played some reanimation stuff for this live performance. I just dont' understand Linkin Park.
Free Music Review: Linkin Park live - oh yeah!!! Hit: 5 StarsWell, can it get any better than Linkin Park performing live. I don't think so. So, with this one, you get 12 live songs, including all their best songs, such as: Numb, Runaway, Crawling, In The End, P5ng Me A*wy, From The Inside, Faint, Papercut, Points Of Authority, One Step Closer, Lying From You and Somewhere I Belong.
Beside this superbly performed songs, you also get a DVD of a concert, where you can almost really experience Linkin Park live. On the DVD they perform 17 songs. Beside the previously mentioned, they also performed Don't Stay, Figure.09, With You, By Myself and Place For My Head. You can also see, that Linkin Park does a great show, when performing life. So respect to all of you guys from Linkin Park. Keep on rockin'!!!
Free Music Review: And to think I used to like this crap! Hit: 1 StarsI used to be like Cotton Hell and The Blind Crow. I used to be a huge LP fan, until one fateful day...I realized that they suck. One time, someone said they're an extremely talented band. It made me laugh. Dream Theater is an extremely talented band. James LaBrie is an epic singer. John Pretucci has guitar solos that LP's guitarist can't even DREAM of playing them. Mike Portnoy has drumm patterns that are light years ahead of anything LP's drummer can do. John Myung has great bass-lines YOU CAN HEAR, but I doin't think LP's bassist's bass is plugged in. Kevin Moore can do some keyboard solos that sound like f$#%ed up guitar solos. Listen to Dream Theater: They were the band that made me realize LP sucks, and I hope they do the same to you LP fans. PS, they (LP) suck live!
