Free Music Notes for Live in TexasFree Music Review: whats the point? Hit: 1 StarsLinkin Park has found a new way to cash in on stuff. The Its not even live- my sister saw a show on how they made it on MTV. The songs are exactly the same as the CD, and it costs 17 bucks. Even the regular CD sucks, too. Its just overdriven pop. Go listen to Rage or Zeppelin
Free Music Review: Come on Hit: 1 StarsLinkin Park has only released 2 studio albums. Already they have a remix album and a live album. Ill say that if you do like them, then this is a good live performance. Ive seen it, its very energetic. But inevitably, this cd/dvd set is nothing more than money in the bank.
Free Music Review: Good but not Great Hit: 4 StarsI got this DVD a few weeks ago, and after numerous watches, I have a few comments.
First, the CD is very good. I have seen them in concert, and the energy they have is reflected on the CD.
I enjoyed the DVD, but there were a few small things that I didn't like. One of them is that it was shot over 2 days, and it is VERY obvious. Chester's sweat marks change in the middle of the song. Another thing that is annoying is when they show an image during a song that completely doesn't match the song they're playing. They show the crowd bouncing completely off rhythm of the song and guitar riffs or drum beats that don't match the audio with the visual.. stuff like that that takes away from the feel of being actually at the show. Some takes are shown in slow motion or awkward angles or blurry which is also annoying when you're trying to imagine being there.
All in all, it is a good DVD. The music is great and the band is definitely amazing, but as far as the "live concert" feel goes, it left a bit to be desired, IMHO.
Free Music Review: Live in Texas Hit: 4 Stars I thought that Linkin Park Live in Texas was a very good album. They created a cd that from start to finish is excellent. It is a Live cd that they recorded at a concert in Texas. It is the kind of music that is energizing and excites the listener.
The cd opens with the song "Somewhere I Belong". "Somewhere I Belong" is a song about somewhere trying to find where he belongs. He feels rejected and that the world isn't how he imagined it would be. "Somewhere I Belong" is followed by "Lying From You". I really like this song and I think that is has an amazing sound. It is a song about a guy who is absolutely fed up with the way people think about him. He feels that people have painted this fake portrait of him. He turns it around on the people that badmouth him with the refrain "The very worst part of you is me!" "Lying From You" is succeeded by what I believe to be one of the best songs on the album, "Papercut." It features hard rap-like lyrics set to a heavy rock beat. It speaks about people getting underneath his skin, like a papercut. The next song, "Points of Authority", is a decent techno sounding rock/rap mix song. Following is "Runaway", another one of the best songs on the album. "Runaway" is an instrumentally amazing piece that really exhibits Linkin Park's excellent instrumental and vocal abilities. It is held up with great drum and bass work. The vocal sentiment of the song is being so pissed of that he is ready to "runaway and open up my mind." The next song, "Faint" , is undoubtedly the most energizing song on the album. It opens up with an amazing violin solo that continues through most of the song. The violin gives the song a very interesting sound, and actually works very well with the extremely hard sentiment of the song. The next few songs, "From the Inside", "Pushing Away From Me", and "Numb" are decent but not very special song, basically a weak echo of the beginning of the album. The next song, "Crawling", was a song that found alot of popularity. It has very good lyrics about an individual that has taken more than he can stand, but musically it is nothing special. " In the End" is one of the bands slower songs, and a good compliment to the bands usually grungy, hard sound. The cd's final song, "One Step Closer", is a great song. It has great lyrics and an impressive guitar solo. The song talks about the singer journeying one step closer to the edge of a breakdown.
Live in Texas is an excellent live cd that puts together the bands greatest songs in an atmosphere that lets the listener join along with the crowds excitement. It is a must for a Linkin Park fan, an highly recommended to the rock community in general.
Free Music Review: Extremely Exellent Hit: 5 StarsThis DVD is great. I'ts awesome to actually "be on the stage with the band" or "in the crowd". It's really fun to watch. They play alot of good hits and never dissapoint. My favorite preformance is "A Place for my head", which you'll just have to see (:
There is one thing, though. Chester and mike swear ( just, like, two bad words) but they're blocked out. Still, it's a great DVD. I think all LP fans should have it or at least see it! (:
