Free Music Notes for MeteoraFree Music Review: Perfect CD... Hit: 5 StarsOkay, I have to get some things clear. Number one, Linkin Park is not a metal band. They fuse hip hop and rock to make a different nu-metal sound. and they shouldn't be classified as nu-metal either, if you count songs such as "Breaking the Habit" or "Cure for the Itch". Number two, don't compare them with rock bands such as Metallica or AC/DC, because, once again, Linkin Park is not pure rock. Now, on with my review. I got this CD sometime in December 2004, and it has been my favorite album ever since. I liked the way they wrote the lyrics and the choruses in a few songs. From the hard rapping of "Faint" to the haunting themes of "Breaking the Habit", these songs all fit in to make one perfect package. Please give this CD a shot, because you never know when you can get hooked to a band.
Free Music Review: Very good CD! Hit: 5 StarsLinkin Park is one of my favorite bands ever next to A Perfect Circle, KoRn, Mudvayne, etc,. This is a very good sophomore album every single song is good except for the Dj solo which I didn't like all that much for some reason. Anyways I will rate the songs:
1. Foreword: Not really a song so can't rate it.
2. Dont Stay: Awesome song to start with! Plenty of kickass screaming in here. I give it a 9/10
3. Somewhere I Belong: Very very good song! When I first heard it I couldn't stop listening. 10/10
4. Lying From You: My second favorite song on here good screaming/rapping. 10/10
5. Hit The Floor: Good rapping, used to be my favorite now it's my 4th favorite. 10/10
6. Easier To Run: An alright song, I didn't like it all that much. 6/10
7. Faint: Hah very good rapping. This is what rap-metal should sound like! 10/10
8. Figure 09.: Hate it. 0/10
9. Breaking The Habit: About Chester's drug abuse when he was younger. 8/10
10. From The Inside: Good song. 9/10
11. Nobody's Listening: Good rapping and singing in this one. 8/10
12. Session: Hate it 0/10
13. Numb: My favorite song on here. 10/10
Free Music Review: Their Strengths surpass their weakness. Hit: 4 StarsHere is a review of the songs in Meteora
Foreward- you cant grade this because all it is is shattering glass and thunder. It is an opening to Dont Stay.
Dont Stay- 9/10. This song is a really loud song. From the Stay Away From Me! to the Without Apology. Overall it is a very good song. It could have had a better ending.
Somewhere I Belong- 8/10 This is a realy good song. It has been played on the radio a lot. Even though it is loud, it is one of LP's quiter songs. For one thing, there are no Extremely loud screams, like one step closer's Shut up when i'm talkin' to you!
I dont know why, but this song reminded me of In the End. The chorus is repatative.
Lying From You- 9.9/10 This is the second best song on this album, and the third best LP song. The opening violin samples are really something to listen to. The Buzzsaw Guitar explodes in the beging. This is probably the most original song LP Has done. The "Very worst part of you, the very worst part of you! IS ME!" Is incredible. Some say this song reminds them of Crawling from Hybrid Theory. I personally cant see that. A really good song. Perfect for parties.
Hit The Floor- 7/10 Definatly not the best song that has been done by LP. The opening guitar sequance is nothing new. It is a very anoying scratchy guitar. The Chorus is, however, not bad. It sounds good and the "One minute your on top!" Is really good. But the rest of the song is just okay.
Easier to Run- 6.5/10- I definatly am not crazy of this song. The chorus needs work to be done. The "If i could change i would, ect." is very good though. This is LP's Secong softest song.
Faint- 9/10- Wow. The opening violin is Awsome! It is a very inspiring song. LP's Second loudest song. Perfect for Huge parties. If you have a good sound system, make sure you play this song at top volume. If you have something like home theater setup, and you turn it all the way up, your windows will fall off. This songs main line is, "I wont be ignored!" Hearing this line at top volume is something to cherish. And kiss your windows good bye.
Figure.09- 8/10 This is a really good song. It reminded me of One step Closer. The chorus's are really fast. The words leading up to the chorus are excellent as well. Like the "Just Like Before..." Of one step closer. The "Never goes away, AND NOW. Are all really good. This song probably wont become a hit at your party.
Breaking The Habit- 9.5/10 Probably the most famous and original LP Song, Breaking the Habit is a song about suicide. It is a very well written song. The chorus is not cheesy as many say. It has haunted lyrics that will make you want to play this song over and over again.
From the inside- 6/10 I dont know about this song, i have never been too fond of it. The chorus is cheesy, and the lyrics sung by chestor just dont seem to fit. But the instrumentals in this song are Excelent.
Nobody's Listening- 7/10 This is a rap song. The japanese flutes are a good insert to LP's variaty. Chestors screams are pretty good his lyrics are kinda cheesy. Mikes vocals are excelent though.
Session- 6/10 It is just a DJ's work. It was used in the matrix reloaded. This song cant be catagorized. If you have iTunes, make sure you change it to Unclassified.
Numb- 10/10 The crown of the album. This song is easilly the best song on this album. This is not The best LP Song. The opening DJ work is really good. It has never been done. This song is different from other LP Songs because, for one thing it has no raps. The second thing is that the song is about problems that children and parents have everyday. Parents sometimes expect to much out of their children. This song will be a party Hit!
So what can i say. This is a really good album and an even better band. I wont give it 5 stars because some of their songs could use some work.
Some people also seem angry at LP, they say, they have no originality and suck. "I cant beilieve Metallica actually toured with these people" says someone. I think people are angry at LP Because they get more publicity that lets say Lamb of God. Lamb of God is a good band, but they dont get nearly as much publicity as LP Does.
Over all, this album is a really good one, definatly worth a purchase. If you liked this album, you would LOVE Hybrid Theory.
Free Music Review: Meteora - Linkin Park Hit: 5 StarsWow, I was waiting for this album since I bought Hybrid Theory, this one is about as good as the other one. The combination of DJ, Metal and Rap is really shining here, let's take a closer look at the album:
Foreword: (-/-) The intro of the next song.
Don't Stay: (9/10) Very nice Metal song, really rocks.
Somewhere I Belong: (10/10) Their first single from Meteora, very good
Lying From You: (8/10) very good heavy song, begins with a nice DJ intro
Hit The Floor: (8/10)the singer really shouts here.
Easier To Run: (8/10)this is a more relaxing song, the ballad of the album
Faint: (10/10) The fast Raprocker, very swinging, very good
Figure 09: (10/10) Superb, just can't find another word for it
Breaking The Habit: (9/10) The poppish song, and a single release
From The Inside: (8/10) Nice
Nobody's Listening: (8/10) A rap song, with a small piece of metal, nice rapping
Session: (7/10) A DJ solo
Numb: (10/10) A superb ending song, perfect melody
So we seem to have a five star album here. But I wonder how long it'll take until the vocalist loses his voice. He really shouts very loud. I recommend it to everyone who liked Hybid Theory.
KEEP ON ROCKING!!!
Free Music Review: What the hell? Hit: 1 Stars1 star is too high for rating this cr@*, but unfortunately there isn't an option avaiable to give it 0 stars.
It's incredible this music (can I call it so?) became popular.
Every song by LP is repetitive. They play 3 powerchords over and over again, add some dull screaming to it and effects.
Who listens to Linkin Park? Of course people with no good musical tastes. And those are mainly 10-years old kids who wanna be "cool". Oh, they may be a bit older. It means they just didn't grow up.
Want to listen to some good, i mean GOOD rock music?
