Free Music Notes for MeteoraFree Music Review: Fabulous Hit: 5 Stars
What a great album! I really don't see why Linkin Park gets so much criticism because as far as I see it, they are one of the most creative and innovative bands out there. (If anyone thinks otherwise, please pick up the awesome Reanimation, blows that theory out the water) A quick breakdown of Meteora: 1.Foreword - not much to say except it leads very nicely and intricately into the next song. Very much Linkin Park's style. 2.Don't Stay - while being a great, hard song to thump along to, what struck me most about this song is Mr Hahn's brilliant work at the turntables running as an undercurrent to the rest of the music. Great stuff. 3.Somewhere I Belong - for the opening strands alone, this song deserves kudos. It's a really good song and showcases what Linkin Park does best; innovation but with a sense of familiarity. 4.Lying from You - a terrific song with special mention going to Brad on the guitars and Chester for singing so damn hard. The flow between Mike and Chester on vocals is also worthy of a mention, these two work fantastically well together. 5.Hit the Floor - probably the hardest song on the album, its all unforgiving beats and vocals. I quite like the bitter and vindicitve lyrics too. 6.Easier to Run - if this becomes a single, it'll be an instant smash. Chester shows the softer, harmonic side to his amazing voice here and blends superbly with Mike. It calms the album down a bit, after the heavy Lying from You and the ferocious Hit the Floor, this song has just the right tempo to soothe you at just the right time. 7.Faint - the fastest song on the album, this is pure fun Linkin Park style. It's catchy and very quick, no time-wasting with this song. 8.Figure.09 - this took awhile to grow on me and is probably my least favourite on the album. Having said that, it's got an a fantastic brigde that takes me back to the edginess of Hybrid Theory. 9.Breaking the Habit - quite possibly the best song on the album. This is Linkin Park as you've never heard them, no hard rocking, no quick-fire rapping, just great strings and Chester singing better than ever. This song shows just how diverse Linkin Park can be, these guys can go in any direction and still make music that sounds great. 10.From the Inside- definitely one of my favourites, this song belongs to Chester and Mike, who once again show why they're such a formidable vocal combination. The song rises and falls numerous times, combining soft verses with a harsh chorus and the result is an epic, rich and mature song. 11.Session - Linkin Park can make even instrumentals sound good. Cure for the Itch was good and this is even better. 12.Numb - a great way to round off the album, it's catchy, it's easy on the ears and all the musical elements blend excellently together. I suppose I can't find a bad thing to say about the album. Meteroa isn't Linkin Park being radically different and producing a whole new sound and why should it be? It is only their second album and they've chosen to hone, develop and mature their sound, the results which are the fabulous songs of Meteora. And I'm loving every minute of it. Bring on the third album!
Free Music Review: Meteora Tottally 5 Stars
This Linkin Park Meteora CD is ONE OF THE BEST EVER!!!!!!! I LOVE to listen to this CD! LINKIN PARK IS AN AWESOME BAND!! I will give reviews and ratings for each song.
01. Foreword- This isn't even a song. It's just a 13 second opening with rain falling and glass breaking. It sounds like it should be the start of Don't Stay. I won't rate this song.
02. Don't Stay- Not one of my favorite Linkin Park songs but it's a fun opening song. This is one of the few Linkin Park songs that doesn't have a hip-hop beat to it.(9th favorite of twelve). I like this song because of it's similarity to From The Inside. 7/10.
03. Somewhere I Belong- This song is one of my favorite Linkin Park songs! This song is about Where do I Belong. The start of the song sounds like the bridge of In The End. This is the sequel to In The End though I like In the End better. (3rd favorite of twelve). 9/10.
04. Lyin' My way From You- Another cool song by linkin Park! Chester Bennington screams really loud in this track with a rockin' hip-hop beat to it. (5th favorite of twelve). 8/10
05. Hit The Floor- This is also a cool song by Linkin Park! A hip-hop bounce with somewhat heavy metal with a really dark sound. (8th favorite of twelve). 7/10.
06. Easier To Run- Of all of the Linkin Park lyrical songs this is my least favorite. The sample of it is kinda boring. It's a sequel to Crawling, but I think that is TOTTALLY WRONG!!! (11th favorite of twelve). 6/10.
07. FAINT- THIS SONG IS TOTALLY This is my favorite Linkin Park A cool fast beat with an XXXTREME guitar It will make you faint after you hear it! (Favorite of twelve)! I love how Chester sings " I CAN'T FEEL, THE WAY I DID BEFORE. DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON ME"!! 1,000/10.
08. Figure.09- This loud headbangin' song is another one of my top songs on this CD, though it's not one of their hit songs. I don't get the name of this song and Points of Authority. It is a sequel to By Myself. (6th of twelve) 8/10.
09. Breaking The Habit- One of my top Linkin Park songs. It sounds strange to have this song on Meteora. It sounds like it should be on Hybrid Theory. the music video is unbelievable. (4th of twelve). 9/10.
10. From the Inside- This kinda sounds like a cross between Breaking The Habit and Figure.09. It has a preety cool beat to it. (7th of twelve). 7/10.
11. No body's Listening- I'm not too much of a hip-hop fan, but I thought it was really cool the way how Linkin Park did it. The Japanese flute gives it a really heavy Asian sound. (10th favorite of 12). 6/10.
12.Session- No lyrics just an instrumental song. (least favorite song of twelve). 4/10.
13. Numb- This is definiteley one of my favorite Linkin Park songs! It sounds like the perfect song to close off the CD with. (2nd favorite of twelve). 10/10.
That's it for my reviews. As the sums add up it's an awesome CD! If you're a Linkin Park fan who doesn't have Meteora, you MUST get it!!!!!!!!!
Free Music Review: WARNING: Hearing one small cut can make you an instant fan Hit: 5 Stars
After only hearing tracks from Hybrid Theory I didn't really feel like that much of a Linkin Park fan. The only tracks that did anything for me were Crawling, In The End, and One Step Closer. That was until I decided to acknowledge the hype that was their album Meteora. I worked at a local music store throughout the summer and winter and managed to occassionally listen to some short cuts of the tracks of this album. I really found myself enjoying the song Numb more than anything. The video for this song is incredible and the lyrics really hit home with me personally. Now, after purchasing the album, I've become a huge fan of Linkin Park's music. They've got a really incredible way of taking the sound of heavy rock and metal and blending it together with true messages for the listeners.Foreward: The opening track is instrumental but it's got a good way of building up the suspense of what else the listener is about to hear with a lot of bass. Don't Stay: Negative yet uplifting lyrics with good drums and scratches Somewhere I Belong: A wonderful song making hurt and shunned people think about where they want to be in their lives. Lying From You: Slightly spooky keyboards and guitars mixed with lyrics of lies and begging make for a good song about relationships gone wrong Hit The Floor: A good follow up to Lying From You explains the man's side of a heated argument with his girl. Easier To Run: An incredible track of hope, wonder, and just plain new age backgrounds. Replacing pain, not wanting to face it, it's just simply easier to run away and leave it behind. Faint: One of the groups most popular tracks that's best played in a hall filled with a crowd. Showing off all the pain of a person whose known for backing off and finally standing up, not being ignored. Figure 09: Never goes away...and now you've become a part of me, you'll always be right here...you'll always be my fear. There's really nothing more I could add other than this track is a good precursor to the song Numb. Breaking The Habit: A different side of Linkin Park that takes on telling a history of what's worth fighting for, why things were said, knowing what's right and wrong, realizing what one must do to live. From the Inside: Good keyboards help in telling another story of pain and hurt and wanting to put trust in someone. Nobody's Listening: Interesting flute gives this song of warnings being ignored almost an Asian feel. Session: Heard in the soundtrack for The Matrix Reloaded, this song's probably best heard as a "last call for alcohol" or when people are just lounging around at night and wondering what their next move or step in this great big world will be. Numb: The best song on the whole album for me speaks out incredibly on how hard it is to cope with what others think when you're only being yourself. I deal with this constantly and if anything else, it's mixing sadness with venting frustration which climaxes into a message that says "Stop, I'm not you. I don't want to be, and I never will be you. I'm only me, myself, and I and there's nothing you can do to change that".
Free Music Review: Linkin Park makes me Amazing and Shocking~~~ Hit: 5 Stars
This album is amazing me. It is similar to first album. Linkin Park's music is more pewerful any other rock music. I think. shock! shock! Just can say.. when I had heard "in the end", their first album title song, I can understand their music themes, you know. but I can not find out their sound style until listening Meteora album. Meteora has strong electric sounds and powerful vocal sounds. Energetic sounds and scratching sounds are mixed up this album. May you say like this: Their song had not changed after "Hybrid theory" but if you are listen carefully, you can go to another rock world. This album's title song is "Somewhere I Belong". It start poweful guitar sound, and slowly get to the climax with energetic voice. This song has slow beat and short internal beat. It makes much fantastic sounds. Just good and great. "Dont't stay" are shouting vocal and scatching sound which is made of more powerful beats. "Lying from you" is strange song because it has not clearly sound, but mid part of this song reveal so fast rapping and shouting vocal sound which are lead to me more upset emotional atmosphere. "Hit the floor" has stop and slow sound. Lower vocal sound make me comfortable emotion. It can be harmony vocal and sound. you know. "Easier to Run" has powerful electric guitar sound. This song is more emotinal than any other song in this album. Just listen without lyrics, and you can feel charmed their another voice. "Faint" has so fast beats and raps. It is more enjoyable my mind. but you can see power is in weak sound. Please enjoy this fast beat song. There are energetic guitar sounds in "figure. 09". It is very suitable on sound and hard vocal. Shout vocal makes your heart utmost beating. It is simple way to get rid of your stressed mind, I think. "Breaking the Habit"'s sound is so simple beat, I know. So in my case I just felt that is so boring sound.. Certainly not... What do you feeling about this song? "From the inside" has very beautiful vocal, so you can feel their mixed up sound that is fantastic guitar sound and shouting vocal sound. One~~two and three beat is much easy to understand their music idea. "Nobody's Listening" has atmosphere arabian world, you know. Watch out! Cobra can be winded your body! U~~~ It's horrible thinking, huh? Please be careful. Don't be shy about the cobra is loving you. Just feel rhytmn and non fiction. "Session" has powful drum sound. The more fast sound, the more deep sound in this song. No voice. Only scratching and beating sound. There is fashionable sound in "Nump". It is more emotional sound making our mind so happy. Linkin Park had tried to more change their album color in "Meteora." It is smilar to their first album color, also. But we can find out after listening their music which is charmed with shouting, scratching, beating, and so fast rapping. It is combined with energetic guitar sound and shouting vocal sound. That is harmony. It makes very fantastic music. Freely listen Linkin Park's album , if you have a chance, and it is your favorite album.... Have a try and Good luck!
