Free Music Review: Two words: bloody brilliant!
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay I'm not under 13, I AM 13, but heh this is less of a hassle...

I love this album. I can not say a bad thing about any song on it. Let me break it down.

Foreword- It involves the sound of breaking things, dripping water and other noise. Some of my favourites.

Don't Stay- I always call this my 'break-up song' I put this on my breakup mix. It just screams (quite literally) break ups to me.

Somewhere I Belong- More commonly known as 'the bed burning song' to me (due to the burning bed in the video) I really like this track. Maybe because it played on my favourite show...or it reminds me of my favourite character from that show, but Somewhere I Belong just rocks.

Lying From You- I didn't take to this one at first. But then as I was surfing the web, I found an AMV (Anime Music Video) featuring one of my favourite anime characters set to this song. I instantly fell in love with it.

Hit The Floor- Maybe it was the screaming in it, or something that tugged at my memory, but this was an instant favourite.

Easier To Run- I drifted in and out of liking this one. It always reminded me of something that happened before, but I just usally skipped it, or was listening to my mixes, which didn't have this on it. Finally I just listened to it again and enjoyed it.

Faint- The first thing I thought of when I heard this was Toxic by Britney Spears. Why? Mainly because of the electric violin things at the beginning. Actually I have a mix of those two songs on my computer. Getting back to the idea, another one of those things that reminded me of a past experience

Figure .09- is this the album of reminding me of the past or what? I don't know about this one, while it's still good, it's definitely not my favourite off the album....

Breaking The Habit- I am getting rather sick of this song, mainly because I'd hear it 3 times while I was trying to fall asleep to the radio. It's a good song though, just really over played.

From The Inside- I really, really like this track. It's great to blast in my room when I have a fight with my friend. Who I fight with at least once a month...

Nobody's Listening- I like the flutes. The first thing my friend said when she heard it was "did we fall down the well from Inuyasha? Is this like Feudal Japan or something?" and she's kinda right...the flutes do remind me of that...

Session- There's this thing about this song that weirds me out. When I listen to it on my headphones, it sounds like the music is just everywhere. It sounds like I have my headphones on, but I'm listening to the music from outside of them. It's really cool. And Mr. Hahn is just the coolest DJ ever.

Numb- The reason I bought the album! Numb was my favourite song when I bought the cd, and of course it was the first song I put on when I got home with it. Even if it's been beaten by other songs, Numb is still an awesome track.

So all in all, I love this album. Good job guys ;)

Free Music Review: An absolutely good cd!
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm into alot of music but I have to say, Linkin Park has blown my mind. Most of the time, I play it because they're good just lstening to it. And whenever I'm angry and need to blow off steam, Meteora and Hybrid Theory definitely work. Hybrid Theory was good hands down. In fact, when I listened to Meteora, something seemed a little empty but I grew to like Meteora in an offbeat, different way from Hybrid Theory.

Intro: no grade, only less then a minute long, leading to...

...Don't Stay: 5/5 i liked this song right from the start. i like how it was written and i can relate to it. the beat is pretty cool.

Somewhere I Belong: 4/5 these were one of the songs i was like, "whatever" but then I grew to like it. the chorus is kinda weak but they tried [they had about 30+ kinds of choruses so i guess i should give them a break]

Lying From You: 4/5 love the riffs and the style. sometimes i like it, other times, i get kinda annoyed by it. but i never skip this song

Hit the Floor: 5/5 this is a really cool song! I love it! Chester screaming the chorus really fits and the beat is really contagious.

Easier to Run: 4.5/5 this is where they sing quite nicely, a soft song compared to the others but i like that. variety, you know? and the lyrics are so true.

Faint: 5/5 love this song too! this is a really high-paced, feet-jangling song, hand-tapping song. the beat is excellent. the drums, forget it, it's the best.

Figure.09: 3.5/5 this is where i like the title better then the song itself. The chorus is nice, along with the bridge but the rapping gets a little too much and the beat gets kinda annoying. i'm picky about this song cuz some parts i like and others i don't.

Breaking the Habit: 5/5 i love the piano/strings on the background music; this song can actually make you dance or if u put it as a remix [not that i heard any but this is a danceable song, all i'm trying to say] the lyrics are metaphoric and it can relate to people, including me.

From the Inside: 4/5 pretty decent song. the different time measure is pretty unique with the 6/8. sometimes i feel this way with other people in school and the verses hit a chord.

Nobody's Listening: 5/5 this is a song i loved right when i listened to it. the Japanese flute was a good idea to put and the chorus is beautiful. love the beat

Session: 3/5 weaker tracks of the album... cure for the itch was a lot better. Session is good if u feel like break-dancing. i skip it sometimes but otherwise, it's an ok listen

Numb: 4/5 i thought this was a weak ending at first but when i started hearing it on the radio, i grew to like it. Now I think it's a good song to listen and sing.

If I had to choose favorites it'd be Don't Stay, Somewhere I Belong, Hit the Floor, Faint, Breaking the Habit, and Nobody's Listening. The rest are still good, too, however. They are worth listening to. the whole album is excellent and all of them relate to how I feel. The lyrics are meaningful and whenever I feel melancholy or angry, or just wanna listen to something good, Linkin Park helps.

Free Music Review: |4.5| Kudos to LP...great CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love this CD. Even though some say that all the songs sound the same...I beg to differ. They are all the same style, but they all are very different in their own right. I'm going through and rating them...1/10.

1. Forward: Great opening to Don't Stay, blends perfectly..only 13 sec. 9/10

2. Don't Stay: Good song, I love the scratching in the backround in the beginning, and how it builds to the beginning of the first verse 8/10

3. Somewhere I Belong: Their single, as you probably know. Great song, but there are better. The verses try to hard to be like "In the End"...but I like the chorus. 7/10

4. Lying From You: I like the music more then the lyrics here...I don't know why, but this song doesn't really grab me. The rapping and sing/screaming in the chorus has a nice effect. 7.5/10

5. Hit the Floor: Much more rap then most of the other songs, but still good. 6/10

6. Easier to Run: Excellent song. Chester's singing on here is beautiful. And when there is a soft singing harmony over the rapping...it gives me goosebumps. The bridge fits wonderfully, and the lyrics are very real, and the song has so much emotion. One of the best tracks. 10/10

7. Faint: Another of my favorites...it's such a dramatic change from the previous track, it is fast paced and a great song. They lyrics are really good too. 9.5/10

8. Figure.09: This song builds in the beginning, like "Don't Stay", and builds up to the verse, where it backs off. Good guitar patterns...at the end of verses, it mixes it up the predicability of the guitar part, which is good to hear. 9/10

9. Breaking the Habit: This in my opinion is the best song on the whole CD. Strings are thrown into the mix, and it works wonderfully with the rest of the song. The lyrics are beautiful and Chester's singing is amazing. 10/10

10. From the Inside: Good song, lyrics are good...piano good...everything works and the song just flows. I love the contrast between verses and the chorus 9/10

11. Nobody's Listening: Total rap, besides the chorus...I like the flute. (But I'm a flute player so I'm a bit biased...) If I didn't play the flute, I'd probably like this song less. So...5/10, a skipper to most.

12. Session: Very good, not as good as "Cure for the Itch" on Hybrid, but still amazing. 8/10

13. Numb: A slower song, still good though. It doesn't grab me as much, but I still love it. 7/10

So overall, this CD is amazing. Lyrically it is amazing, and the music is great too. The only complaint is the shortness of the album! 37 minutes is very short. But it is all good music, so I guess I will live.

And another thing that I LOVE about this CD is how they made it to sound that all the songs are blended together. Like at the end of one track, you will get a hint of the upcoming track before it hits. And it all flows together, and I love that.

I recommend this CD to anyone who liked Hybrid Theory. It is a lot of the same style, but more deep and...better, I guess. This CD is a step up from HT, but in the same vain.

Free Music Review: Well Done Linkin Park
Hit: 5 Stars

I thought it was a really good album. It was well put together, and it was obvious, these guys put a lot of effort into it. Every song deserves to be a single, which almost actually happened. Half the album were singles. Their next album should be an instant hit, which should be released in 2007 I think. After Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park really set the bar for themselves, and they pretty much beat their goal by far. I really think their next studio album will be top-notch.

1. Foreword (10/10)
It's just a 10 second intro that launches into the next song. Even this super short intro involves extreme effort and hard work.

2. Don't Stay (8/10)
Not my favorite. It's a good song, just not my favorite. Kinda overplayed, not that likable eiither.

3. Somewhere I Belong (12/10)
This is a good song. I love it. It's great, reflective, and just flat out awesome. A good song to sing along. I love the suspense the song contains.

4. Lying From You (12/10)
After Somewhere I Belong, you don't think it could get any better. This song is great, and creative, as well as the previous song. Lively, and high-tempoed.

5. Hit The Floor (13/10)
My personal favorite. It's got a great beat and rhythm. Kind of a dance song. They did a good job with guitars, and the lyrics are great too.

6. Easier To Run (7/10)
On This song, they tried to take some of Crawling and put in this song, but didn't succeed. It's alright, Crawling is ten times better.

7. Faint (12/10)
Great song. Fun to sing, just a little overplayed. You couldn't go one day in 2003 without hearing this song or Numb on the radio.

8. Figure.09 (9/10)
Pretty good. As well as Easier To Run, they kind of tried to take the likability of One Step Closer and put it in this song, but didn't succeed, although this song is still pretty good.

9. Breaking The Habit (10/10)
Corny. No rapping, and just a little boring. It's a weird choice for a single.

10. From The Inside (8/10)
A little better than Easier To Run. A little repetitive.

11. Nobody's Listening (11/10)
Probably the song with the most rapping. I'm not into rap that much, but I really like this song. Reminds me of Inuyasha! lol.

12. Session (8/10)
Instrumental. Better than Cure For The Itch, although, I don't like it very much. It's boring.

13. Numb (12/10)
Obviously, they end with a soft song. It's good, I like it. Very well done as well as all of their songs. Gets in your head quickly, you just have to sing along.

Overall, I'd rate this album 98/100. It's extremely well done. If you haven't got it, buy it. It's great! Hybrid Theory is good too, although not as good as Meteora because, well it was their debut, and I think it was full of experiments. Get Meteora first. There is a lot more tools and materials used in this record.

Free Music Review: Linkin Park ROCKS.
Hit: 5 Stars

Here's my review of one of my favorite albums. Linkin Park's Meteora.

I really think that this album was a great follow-up to Hybrid Theory. HT was huge, and I still love it to this day, but I gotta say this album really is about equal in greatness to it. Here's the song-by-song breakdown. I can't really rate them, cuz there's not a bad song I've ever heard by Linkin Park in my opinion. I love every one of them.

1. Foreword- A short little song with an awesome ending of shattered glass, which is an awesome opening to our next song...
2. Don't Stay- A really hardcore song, the one of the hardest on the album, a great song to mosh to. One of my friends actually blew the windows out of a truck with this song. lol
3. Somewhere I Belong- This song really deserved being a single. I adored this song, it was one of my favorites from the first listen. I just couldn't figure out what those mammoth things were on the video. o_o; lol
4. Lying From You- Another hardcore song, really loud, just an awesome song. I really wish they had the scream on at the beginning like they did on Live In Texas. That scream rocked. lol
5. Hit The Floor- Had a sort of Asian feel to it, but it was a cool song, formerly one of my favorites, but it's not as high up there anymore.
6. Easier To Run- I see Crawling written ALL OVER this one. It's a lot like Crawling, but it is still a really cool song. I dunno, I've always liked this one.
7. Faint- Another single. The violins really do the song justice. It has a really strong chorus too, great lyrics. 'Don't turn your back on me, I won't be ignored'.
8. Figure.09- Overall, my favorite song on the album. I have loved this song from the first time I heard it. It just sounded so eerie but awesome. I just wonder why this wasn't a single...I always thought it was great enough to be one.
9. Breaking The Habit- This song is really good, though they kinda overplayed it on the radio when it first hit it big. Not a bad thing at all, more LP fans jumped on the bandwagon. lol
10. From The Inside- I never knew this song had a video! I found the thing on the net the other day. It rules! lol Anyway... This song just flat out rules, and it has really good DJ-ing going on, go Mr. Hahn. lol
11. Nobody's Listening- Hey, it's a rap. But not an all bad one either. I really enjoyed this song, and the flute accompaniment really helped.
12. Session- Pure instrumental. I liked it, though I thought Cure For The Itch from Hybrid Theory and the song Technique on Hybrid Theory EP were better. It sounds really good, I just wanted some DJ scratching in my instrumentals, man. lol
13. Numb- Anyone who hears the signature soundboard opening knows this song's coming up. I just love that soundboard part throughout the whole song. Has really good lyrics, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

That's Meteora in a nutshell. I highly recommend this album to fans of new rock. Look into getting Hybrid Theory, too, if you don't have it.
