Free Music Notes for Minutes to MidnightFree Music Review: Good Music! Hit: 4 StarsI bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loves it. I like it, not as much as her, but it's still got a few great tunes on it. Linkin Park is a good band and the CD is an overall quality acquisition for Linkin Park fans.
Free Music Review: I'd rather... Hit: 1 Stars..listen to a toaster. Its unbelievable that anything off this album gets radio play. I'm speechless.
Free Music Review: CONCEPT ALBUM ? Hit: 5 StarsTo me this album has a common thread. Isolation.Whether that's loneliness as a person or a country. There is unrequited love in all it's various forms. Taken as a whole this album works well. The whole is stronger than it's individual tracks. Well worth your hard earned scheckels.
Free Music Review: New direction, but I love it! Hit: 5 StarsI too am tired of all the negative reviews. 3 stars? HARDLY!! I personally LOVE this CD and it is my favorite Linkin Park CD by far. I heard "Shadow of the Day" on the radio and sensed that this was a new direction for Linkin Park, so I was very intrigued and bought the album without knowing anything about it. I am so glad I did! The songs just keep running through my head and I can't get enough of it. It is true, the Chester screaming/rap songs are largely missing from this album, so if that is all you want to see out of Linkin Park, then this is not the album for you. But I enjoy LP on many different levels, and the lyrics and melodies on this one are simply outstanding.
It really bugs me that whenever a band is in a particular genre, people only want to hear more of the same, and as soon as they branch out or do something different, they get panned. I guess it's somewhat to be expected, since a band's particular sound is what its initial popularity is based on, and if that changes, it may no longer be as popular. But as human beings we all need to grow and experiment, so I don't see why we are so averse to hearing something different from a group we know and love.
Bottom line, I try to keep an open mind, and I figure it's only a $10 or $13 risk, so if I don't like it, oh well. I'll sell it at 2nd Hand Tunes if it's really awful. Which, fortunately, I won't have to do with Minutes to Midnight- this one is definitely a keeper and will go into my regular commute CD rotation.
Free Music Review: Minutes to Midnight Linkin Park Hit: 5 StarsWhat can I say.....Linkin Park has produced another top music CD again. They keep getting better and better. I loved this CD. If you are a Linkin Park fan this is a must have for your collection.
