Free Music Review: The singles tell what Linkin Park doesn't want you to know.

Linkin Park has said this is their new sound. Nobody denies this album sounds waaay different than their previous genre defining efforts. Apologists for the album claim that the new sound is better, more mature, that we should embrace it. If that's true, then explain to me why the two singles chosen to be released, What I've Done and Bleed It Out, are the only two songs on the album that sound anything remotely like Linkin Park's "old" sound, right down to Chester screaming and Mike rapping.
If the new sound isn't a bust, why are they trying to hide it behind these two songs?
This album is to Linkin Park what Slang was to Def Leppard. Want to bet that just like Def Leppard, after all the public talk about how happy they are with their new sound, the band runs back to the "less mature" "old" sound on the next album? Def Leppard never recovered from claiming to have outgrown the fans of the sound that made them, will Linkin Park?

The style is completely different from any other of Linkin Park's Albums. So if you are someone that only likes that style music then don't buy and then give it a bad review! You have to enjoy music for what it is worth. I agree that I don't like All of the songs on this CD (especially the cussing in some songs) but the musicallity of this band is Amazing! If you know anything about music then you know what I am talking about. The rythms and Melodies and Perfect. No one can give this CD less then a 3 star! For me I am a HUGE Linkin Park fan! I love all the songs on their first 2 CD's Hybrid Theory and Meteora! But like I said you can't give a bad grade on a CD just because it is a different style then a band's older songs! As for me I would give it a 5 star but I don't enjoy listening to cuss-words in music! so I rest w/ 4 stars. Free Music Review: Here we go again................

Anybody remember when bands just played music and were happy with that? What happen to the days of picking up an album and listening to great timeless songs about nothing? Now, all we get from bands that think way to much of themselves is whine whine whine. I wish all of these whiny bands would make 2 versions of their albums; One with whine and one without. By the way, when I say "nothing" I mean no political agenda, no "cause" to rant about just great music. LP is an awesome and talented band but I don't buy albums to hear someone else's opinion of something. And, LP is way to talented to have to drop the "F" bomb to try and please a group that called them "emo" anyway. I know I know, if you don't like the album don't buy it........... Upon reading other reviews, you already know this album is different than their previous recordings.
Although different, in no way has LP lost their ability to rock (as "No More Sorrow" demonstrates). Fans who appreciate a band's ability to evolve and express their artistic ability at a different level will not be disappointed. LP changes it up a little with some slower-paced songs, but in no way do they betray their unique style (as Metallica did in the '90's).
All I can say is that if you expect to hear the exact same music as the previous albums, you may be disappointed. On the other hand, if you want quality music from a band that has shows their ability to mature, you will be pleasantly surprised. Personally, I'm excited to know that they aren't afraid to express themselves in new ways, even if it means disappointing a few people--after all, some people will never be completely satisfied. People mature, and so should artists. Five stars to LP--again.

"Minutes To Midnight" is excellent! A excellent fourth album from Linkin Park, one of the best rock bands out there.
