Free Music Review: Metamorphosis of LP....interesting
Hit: 5 Stars

Let me start of by saying that this CD is not for the excited die hard rock fan, like lets say a KoRn fan..

This cd is really REANIMATED. just as the name suggest. True Lp fans would have known that Lp is not the Average Rock Band. but goes thru alot of changes..hence my title metamorphosis..

This cd includes BONUS MULTI-MEDIA CONTENT. that's a plus. but now-a-days most cds come with that so...

Reanimation has 20 tracks...worth the money..compared to some rock cds that make you pay the same price for just 12 tracks. I'm not calling names *coughEvanescencecough*

This cd contains some tracks that were not on hybrid theory such as 'my december' but again is remixed. but not in a bad way.
The song 'my december' really shows the skill vocals of chester bennington and really impresses the first time listener.

All the tracks to me were great. I appreciated the fact that alot of hip-hop was put into it and remixed great and that i was not just re-purchasing hybrid theory

But ****WARNING****. if you despise hip-hop. don't purchase this cd.
but if you despise hip-hop then i don't know how you can call yourself an LP fan..but that's just you i guess

so all in all
the cd is awesome...great anime cartoon art. great production by the one and only MIKE SHINODA.
its a must have..

Free Music Review: Reanimated is right - possibly even better than before!
Hit: 5 Stars

First thing to say: If you don't like hip-hop mixed with rock and then sliced and diced by *many* talented DJ's and artists, this may not be for you. I say 'may not' becuase at first I was a bit apprehensive.

I am no longer.

This album is quite literally a reanimation of Linkin Park's previous album, with non-US releases 'High Voltage' and 'My December' remixed and redone as well. In this case, reanimation does not mean re-hashing. It means re-doing the entire kit from start to finish. Most every song has a completely different feel, yet still maintain the lyrical and musical genius of the group. They are not some simple rock/rap group - they are more than that. With lyrics that come from that indefinable place within and coming out with the heavy weight of emotion upon them, gives the album an incredible depth - And you can't forget the excellent artists who collaborated on the album to make such amazing music even better.

Right now I have the track 'P5ing Me A*wy' (Pushing Me Away) playing. I have goosebumps. It's *that* good.

But to really enjoy it, don't think about the album 'Hybrid Theory' where most songs have their roots. Doing so will only detract from the experience.

Listen to this cd for what it is: a truly amazing musical ensemble with depth and vision beyond many others.

Free Music Review: Masterpiece
Hit: 5 Stars

It seems rather simplistic and too much of an understatement to call this a fantastic album. What adjectives would I use instead? How about revolutionary, visionary, ridiculously innovative? Renanimation is a record that blows away genre restrictions, cliches and stereotypes, inventing and reinventing itself all through the 20 tracks on the album. With tracks like P5shing Me A*wy, Enth E ND, FRGT/10, Istp Kloser and Krwling (which is worth the price of the album alone) Linkin Park have set the standards for every other remix album to follow. No longer will I settle for a fast beat on a previous ballad, three-guest vocalists on a song that originally had two, big name producers who put their stamp of popularity on a record. Instead, I will now insist that each song on a remix album is literally reinterpreted, to open my mind to how many more directions a particular song could have taken, adding beats where I least expect it, show me how pointless genres concepts can be when music is done for the simple sake of being creative. Because that is what Linkin Park have delivered with this extraordinary record.

Revolutionary, visionary, ridiculously innovative? Reanimation is all that and more. So you invented the remix did you P.Diddy? Wrong, Linkin Park have made that domain all their own.

Free Music Review: Finally, hip hop/rock has real hip hop
Hit: 5 Stars

I consider myself not to be an individual thats taste lie within in mainstream music. With that said, i have to express my upmost appreciation for this album. Showing that there is more to them than baring the label of standard rap/rock fare, they have encorperated many well respected emcees and rock artists. frg/10, feat. charli 2na of jurrassic 5 fame, has to be one of my favorite tracks, as it's not only completely different than it's hybrid theory counterpart, but captures an essense of the underground hip hop. My delight was furthered to find tracks with Defari, Aceyalone, Evidence, Pharoehe Monch, and many other guest appearances.
If your not a big fan of rap music but enjoyed hybrid theory, i would not reccommend this album as most of the tracks have more rap/techno than rock/techno when compared to their last effort. However, if you are curious about what underground rap has to offer, this is a great example, especially high voltage, produced by evidence and mixed by DJ Babu.
Mike Shinoda still shows his promising lyrical abilities, and really it almost feels like it's more his own LP than Linkin Park's. To some though, that may be a good thing. I highly reccommend this to lovers of music, even to those who didn't find hybrid theory to be their cup of tea.

Free Music Review: The CD that should have taken the place of "HT"
Hit: 5 Stars

I was never a huge fan of Hybrid Theory. The beats were often repetative and the sound seemed too thin for so much raw emotion. A huge fan of Oasis (older Oasis) and Filter, I needed that extra bite, the thrashing guitars, the heavy bass, the tones in the background. Luckily, "Reanimation" granated my wish.

Borrowing it, I was skepticle at first. However, the tracks "Pushing Me Away" and how it blends into "Place For my Head" are brilliant. They are heavy and loud, but never the less very cathardic. "My December" is another great track. It is mellow and sad sounding, and affects me every time I hear it, which if often. "By Myself" took some getting used to, but with its hooks, I now listen to it frequently as well. I also like this version of "One Step Closer" better, but the true gem on the album is the very last track. This version of "Crawling" is beautiful to say the least. Rick and velvety, it is the perfect song for any occasion, whether it be dark out and you're in the city, or you alone, out in the middle of nowhere. A masterpiece, it tops off a great cd.

I recommmend this album to anyone, even those, like myself, felt disappointed by "Hybrid Theory". This will deinfetly make it up to you.
