Free Music Review: Wow... just... wow...

When I first heard that Linkin Park's new album was going to be a remix album (at the beginning of this year) I was a little PO'ed, to say the least. Don't get me wrong, I love Linkin Park with all my heart, but you do have to admit they were turning into a bit of a sell-out. And with a remix album as their second album? But then I listened to PTS.OF.ATHRTY and H! VLTG3 (which, by the way, is a remix of the remix) on their site, and realized how much different a remix could be. I got the album the day it came out, but at first it was a little disappointing. I really wish I could say I liked the remix of In the End (ENTH E ND), but then I'd be lying. But as I listened more and more, I found myself getting hooked on the new styles and new lyrics. The highlights are, by far, the last two tracks (1STP KLOSR with Jonathan Davis from KoRn and KRWLNG with Aaron Lewis from Staind), but most of the album after track 5 is good. The bonus features are just the PTS.OF.ATHRTY video (very, very cool) and a "Website Toolkit" with a bunch of images and links to help with the creation of a LP fansite. All in all, if you liked their first album, or their old, pre-Linkin Park stuff, you'll love this. If you don't like LP, then you won't like this, which makes sense I guess... Opening - A good instrumental start for the album.
Pts .of .Athrty - 8/10 Not much difference but a great remix!
Enth E Nd - 9/10 My third favorite on the album. Very rap-styled.
Chali - Just a phone call by Chali 2na to Mike Shinoda. Weird.
Frgt/10 - 7/10 First one I ever heard. Very rap-styled, too.
P5hng Me A*wy - 8/10 This is soft rock. But it's still good.
Plc.4 Mie Haed - 9/10 Rap-styled.
X-Ecutioner Style - 5/10 Contains profanity. And it's kinda dumb.
H! Vltg3 - 10/10 Second favorite on this album. Everything is rapping.
Riff Raff - Another one of those phone calls.
Wth>You - 6/10 Second I heard. I don't like it too much.
Ntr/Mssion - Kinda like the Opening. 29 sec. instrumental piece.
PPr:Kut - 9/10 Fourth favorite on the album Rapping.
Rnw@y - 7/10 I dunno. Not that good.
My<Dsmbr - 9/10 A great one. Not much difference either.

By_Myslf - 10/10 ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! Not much difference though.

1stp Klosr - 6/10 This one is SO BORING. Takes to 1:53 into the song for the actual singing.

Free Music Review: Remixed and Reanimation Equals Awesome Rewards

Ok, I know it's a remix album and everything which sort of made me hestitate on giving it five stars simply because it's not all new material. I have loved Linkin Park since their early days so of course I picked up a copy early this morning and I had no idea how amazing this album is. Hybrid Theory truly probably is my all time favorite CD due to lyrics and the music of it in general but I have to admit this album almost does or does top even Hybrid Theory. The remixes of each song is absolutely amazing and takes some of these songs to a new spinning edge and 180's them in ways that truly make Linkin Park still a cutting edge band in today's seemingly "all the same" music released over this past year. Ok, now for the tracks..."Points of Authority" with it's new militant sound (and video too!) excels even over the original..."Pushing Away" builds with the true passion of the lyrics and even flips itself to being even more aggressive than the first. I could go on about every track forever but that would take too long...the only songs I was not crazy about the remixes of where "In the End" and "High Voltage" even though they still are extremely good. Definately a CD to buy, even if you are not a big Linkin Park fan...it has everything in it!Free Music Review: Not Just A Remix Album

In the year 2000, a new band came out of the horizon to fuse rock and rap together (which wasn't exactly a new thing)... but were different than Limp Bizkit or Korn or any other rap-metal or nu-metal group. Their name was Linkin Park. By now everyone knows who they are and probably has their "Hybrid Theory" record, but I joined the revolution a lot sooner. Before "In The End" or 8 times platinum. Back when I had to convince people to at least try Linkin Park. Reanimation puts me back in that state of mind. They completely changed, "reanimated" every single song that Linkin Park ever did (well...except one or two off the Hybrid Theory EP). By now... I couldn't stand "In The End" and "Hybrid Theory" barely gave me the thrill I got in Christmas of 2000. But today, I felt that Linkin Park redeemed themselves and gave me back the thrill I got when I first heard "Hybrid Theory". To put it shortly...if you liked "Hybrid Theory" you may not like this...but that's the entire reason why it's so groundbreaking. Sure, "Reanimation" may not sell 8 million copies, but it will make a lot of LP Underground members (like myself...come to Cleveland LP!!)and true LP fans very happy.Free Music Review: "better animated"

When i first heard linkin park was putting out a remix album i was upset. I wanted to hear new material. but i found it was. Reanimation was totally different. some songs were not as good as the ones on hybrid theory but were good.heres a comparison on the songs. hybrid re-animated
