Free Music Review: To set the facts straight and express my opinion.
Hit: 5 Stars

OK here goes.

I am a Linkin Park fan, most people either love or hate Linkin Park. I find that the people who hate them are generally more narrow minded because ther're usual reason is because,"they are a manufactored band so natrually they are crap", or,"tbey are new and different and so hence they are crap". Most of the haters will tell you to go out and listen to their favourite bands mainly grunge, classic metal bands ie Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Iron Maiden, AC/DC etc. and you should because those bands are real masters and I personally am a big fan of a lot of the the bands that these people tell you to listen to instead of Linkin Park but they are very different this is a new sort of stlyle, so they are not really comparable.

Right now I've got that out of the way. Hybrid Theory was the first albumn it was a triumph and was critically acclaimed. The style was very fresh and they did a hell of a good job. Then Reanimation came out and people said OH! It wasn't the expected completely new albumn but a one of those rubbish only for bargain bins remix/rehash albumns. Linkin Park are surrounded by preconceptions and this albumn was another preconception within itself, what chance did it have...None. It was generally overlooked by everyone to the point where people say Linkin Park have released rwo records Hybrid Theory and Meteora. This is a real shame because this albumn is amazing.

It is so unexpected that you have to listen to it many times before you begin to appreciate just how good it is. It is not the same style as the other two albumns, it is very mellow and there is a lot more rap, I am not a big fan of rap but this is just very different. The albumn is very hard to describe the reveiwer is just right when he says that that the songs are like musical landscapes sort of like space very large, forboding, barren. I advide listenening to the albumn from the beggining to the end because it is like a journey almost. This love of the Albumn could just be a personal thing but I think that you will be pleasantly surprised if you listen with an open mind and rid yourself of preconceptions. This, as the reveiwer said, really is an art peice.

Free Music Review: Evil Clone of Hybrid Theory
Hit: 5 Stars

Reanimation is a remixed version of hydrid theory with a few skits, bonus songs and it is rounded to 20 songs. Every song features some rapper (mostly underground) or a famous rocker. Also most of the songs run into each other.

Reanimation is surprisingly dark and makes you think of a post-Blade Runner future. Reanimation fills in the flaws of Hybrid Theory. Example: With You on Hybrid Theory is horrible. Yet on Reanimation it is perfected and one of the best songs on the album.

The openings are gloomy and so are the skits. Pts. of Athrty is unbelievablely dark and gloomy. Enth E Nd was overplayed on the radios but it was remixed and featuring Motion Man and it was like a new song.

Frgt/10 has so much improvement with Chali 2na from Jurassic 5 that it doesn't sound a thing like the original. P5hing Me Aw*y is considerably better than the original. Plc. 4 Mie Haed is not much of an improvement. X-ecutioner Style is nothing special having featuring parts from Linkin Park songs.

H! Vlg3 is better than the original having been the only pure rap song on the album. Wth>You is the most improvement. On Hybrid Theory it is the weakest track and now it is one of the strongest.

Ntr: Mission is an interlude with a nice piano tune. Ppr: Kut is so dark compared to Hybrid Theory's. On Hybrid Theory it was the perfect opener. Now it is the perfect way to start the halfway point. Rnw@y is an okay song and a little of an improvement.

The best song on the album (in my opinion) is My Dsmbr. My December on Hybrid Theory (Import) was okay but the version on this album is better because it has more than the piano. By_Myslf is harder rocking than the first and has a better beat.

Kyur4 Th Ich is the biggest disappointment because it is practically the same. 1Stp. Kloser builds up the pressure with a special apperance from Jonathan Davis from Korn. It outdoes the original.

Krwlng is the perfect ending with Aaron Lewis from Staind helping with the chorus.

Overall Reanimation is something you should listen to while watching a japanese animation show with big robots. It outdoes the original and brightens the future for Linkin Park.

Free Music Review: I never thought...
Hit: 5 Stars

...that Hybrid Theory would be outdone. In fact, I had the expectations that this album would be great but would not be able to touch Hybrid Theory. All of those expectations have been shattered after hearing REANIMATION. The only word that could possibly sum it all up is amazing.

The album opens with a haunting, yet calming violin and cello piece played by bassist Dave Farrell that is revisited again in the "NTR\MSSION" as well as Mike Shinoda's new version of "KRWLNG." Although all of the tracks are great, there are a couple that stand out above the rest:

- "P5HNG ME A*WY" is a much darker piece than the original, although the underlying beat keeps it from becoming dreary. Stephen Richards of Taproot lends his voice to the track, blending in and out with band vocalist Chester Bennington's. The result is a haunting track that seems to lock on to the listener and not let him/her go until the end.

-"PPR:KUT" is a very original reinterpretation that includes heavy guitar playing over a hip-hop beat with various samples. Cheapshot and Jubacca do a great job of recreating the feel of "Papercut" while turning it into a completely new song. The song also features Rasco and Planet Asia rhyming over a violin. Great track.

-"KRWLNG" is the final song in this masterpiece that begins with a violin and cello. Blips of the original "Crawling" are played through out the intro until the song breaks out into the familiar opening of chime-like samples. The song is arguably the best track, seemingly taking elements from the previous ones and mixing it into it. The remix and album end with the violin fading out over bells.

The album was produced by band emcee Mike Shinoda who also remixed a few of the tracks. "Chairman" Hahn, Linkin Park's turntablist, oversaw the remixing of "WTH>YOU" and "KYUR4 TH ICH." From beginning to end, the album is definitely an evolution from not only Hybrid Theory, but from past remix albums. If you have an open mind towards many genres such as hip-hop, rock, electronica and even some classical, then you will enjoy this album. It will be in my CD player for a very long time to come.

Free Music Review: AMAZING!
Hit: 5 Stars

... I am sick and tired of all the negative reviews this album gets comparing it to Hybrid Theory. I am a huge huge fan of Linkin Park, I have followed they're progress since they released their EP earlier on. I have to admit, Linkin Park has been overblown with people listening to them not because of their musical talents, sounds and lyrics. Many people listen to Linkin Park because they're "cool", because everyone else is listening to them...and I've even heard "because they're cute"...P>Hybrid Theory was superb, and Reanimation is superb in it's own level too. Mike Shinoda said ... "Reanimation is a project LP got together to do. We don't expect it to be a commercial success. It's a hobby, to remix the songs...to try something different while penning down our new songs. We just got our friends over and had them play around with our songs from Hybrid Theory." Well, maybe he didn't say that EXACTLY, but that was the core of it. And actually, that sums up Reanimation really well.

Honestly, i don't really like remix albums, they tend to make the once good songs totally lame, ... But here, Linkin Park has managed to pull of one of the best remix albums I've heard. With new sounds, beats and melodies...LP has truely outdone themselves. And of course not forgetting their impressive lineup of guest vocalists. Jay Gordon from Orgy, Alchemist, Stephen Richards from Taproot, X-Ecutioners, Pharoah Monche, Evidence and DJ Babu from Dilated Peoples, Stephen Carpenter from Deftones, ex-Sneaker Pimp vocalist Kelli Ali, Humble Brothers, Jon Davis from Korn, and last but definitely not least, Aaron Lewis from Staind. I admit, i don't know the rest of the guest vocalists, but after hearing these songs, I'm surfing the net for more info about them.

I want to say which tracks are amazing, but seriously...I can't decide, they're all fantastic. I have no complains about this album, it's a magnificent effort from Linkin Park to produce some new energy into their old album.

...If you like Linkin Park for their songs, for their talent, you will not regret the purchase of Reanimation. I guarantee it!

Free Music Review: [REANIMATION]
Hit: 5 Stars

I've seen many one star reviews on Reanimation because it was "different" from Hybrid Theory, that LP stripped Hybrid from its "rockness" and heavy riffs, that the whole hip hop scene was negatively overpowering, and by utilizing machines, it took all the musicianship away.

I personally thought Reanimation was a stellar album. It had a totally different sound from Hybrid's rock feel incorporated with hip hop beats and Joe's scratching and mixing. I am guessing that listeners who didn't enjoy Reanimation were under the perception that it'd be another rock album like Hybrid. But they failed to see that Reanimation was a REMIX, and perhaps LP wasn't going for the whole rock approach but in fact exploring and experimenting with hip hop and electronic elements.

Reanimation was different--full of diversity with guests such as alt/rock Aaron Lewis and various UNDERGROUND (not mainstream!!!) hip hop artists. LP was able to take an original song, totally rearrange it, and transform it into something new, bold, and daring, yet still stay true to its original.

By incorporating technology, the music was full of surprises. Listeners may think, "Wow, I never knew __(song goes here)__ could sound like this!" P5HNG ME A*WY literally sent chills up my spine. I loved H! VLTG3's underground feel. WTH>YOU is the epitome of the word "awesome." MY<DSMBR was a mellow, relaxing contrast to the more fast paced songs. BY_MYSLF had a crisp, dark sound. KRWLNG was a beautiful, emotionally evoking song (another bone chiller).

All in all, Reanimation proved that LP isn't just another rock band barraging the radio. They're diverse, original, creative. Hybrid Theory is great because it's different from most of the rock bands barraging the radio. Reanimation is great because it's different from Hybrid Theory (and maybe even a bit better, but shhh! don't tell the Hybrid Theory's avid zealots that).

If you don't like Reanimation at first, just keep listening to it! It sounds better each time you listen to it!
