Free Music Notes for Reanimation (Dig)Free Music Review: Just Amazing-They did It again! Hit: 5 Stars
Wow! This CD is great! I had great expectations for Linkin Park's new CD. I waited so long. Well, they sure met them my standards. A very nice follow-up remix CD of their other cool Hybrid Theory album. Reanimation was tranformed into a rock-rap mix, with electronic sounds and voices. Just like Hybrid Theory, every song was outstanding. To tell you the truth, I didn't want to buy this CD at first. I thought ithe songs would just be a repeat. But the "reanimations" were extraordinary. No need to worry about profanity, if you do. They don't use any. Reanimation is just as good as Hybrid Theory. Here's an overview of the songs. 1-Opening-A nice calm instrumental tune. 2-Pts. of Ahtrty-great song, great video (comes in CD) 3-Ent hE Nd- a cool rap remix of the the original single 4-Chali-a message on a phone 5-Frgt/10-takes you to another world of occasional electronic sounds 6-P5hng Me A*wy-Cool rock remix 7-Plc. 4 mie head- nice mix of the original 8-X-ecutioner style- a mix of all songs, with DJ work and rap. 9-H! Vltg3-Another rap mix 10-Riff Raff-message on phone 11-Wth>You- a harder rock song mix of the original 12-Ntr/Mission- an instrumental tune 13-PPr. Kut- a cool mix of the original, with electronic sounds 14-Rnw@y-A rock mix witrh rhythm, of the original. 15-Stef- message on phone 16-My Decmber-Relaxing slow song by Linkin Park. 17-By_Myslf-Almost like the original, with a different tune 18-Kyur4 Th Ich-Instumental DJ song with a strong beat19-1stp Klosr- More guitar strums/intsruments, almost like the original 20-Kwling-A mix of the original, taking you to another world with a duet chorus and electronic sounds.
Free Music Review: Memorable Mixes Hit: 5 Stars
To be honest, I never had a chance to listen to all of "Hybrid Theory." I'd heard the majority of the tracks on the radio and other sources and thought that besides just having good beats, the lyrics really had something extra in them. You heard the songs once and they stuck. Now, the entire album of "Hybrid Theory" and then some is 'reanimated' and brought back to life with more creativity and inventiveness than ever. I myself am a casual listener to music. However, Hip-Hop is a genre that never particularly interested me. In "Hybrid Theory," Linkin Park did a good job infusing elements of both Rock and Hip-Hop. With "Reanimation," they lean more towards techno-ish beats and Hip-Hop but amazingly, they pulled it off and I throughly enjoyed the whole album. Not all credit belongs to Linkin Park, however, as many of their collaborators breathe new life to the songs. From Jonathan Davis from Korn and Aaron Lewis from Staind, the new vocals refresh the songs. To add to that, the guest DJs picked the choicest beats and sounds. You could pretty much say that all the tracks of past have been reinvented completely. As for personal favorite tracks, PTS.OF.ATHRTY (Points of Authority remix) by Jay Gordon ties in with ENTH E ND (In The End remix) by Kutmasta Kurt with Motion Man as excellent tracks. However, MY<DSMBR (My December remix) by Mickey P. featuring Kelli Ali is the highlight of the album for me simply cause of the way it breaks away from all the anger and high decibels of the previous songs to reveal a mellow, melancholy song and beat. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of "Reanimation" today. You won't be disappointed when you blast it in your car on a hot day on the road or anywhere for that matter.
Free Music Review: Unexpected bout of true effort and style Hit: 5 Stars
"Hybrid Theory," regardless of its mass popularity and overextended radio time, is still one of my favorite albums. When this "remix" of that album was announced as an upcoming release I was spectacle as I think many were. I figured they were milking the success of that album to no end, and while that may be true still, I have come around to believe that this album truly took a good amount of effort, thought, and style to create.Yes, it is basically a CD full of remixes, but what that does not mean is that it isn't worth listening to. What I will say, though, is that this album exhibits the group's love of techno and hip-hop simply because the "reanimators" as they put it are all hip-hop or techno DJs. As a result all the songs that were definitely metal with a taste of hip-hop or techno from "Hybrid Theory" are now on "Reanimation" as definitely hip-hop or techno with a taste of metal. It truly is Linkin Park in the eyes of the hip-hop industry, and this blend is a refreshing combination of my two favorite types of music that basically make up the polar opposite ends of the pop culture spectrum. Basically, if you loved Hybrid Theory then there is no reason you should not love this album also; it just might open your eyes to the hip-hop world if you have little familiarity with it. Also, if you are a fan of any metal whatsoever and you also seem attracted to the likes of any of the "reanimators" listed on the album, then there is no reason you shouldn't love this album. I think this album marks an amazing blend of the metal world with the hip-hop world, and if it becomes amazingly popular it will demonstrate what can happen when worlds collide.
Free Music Review: Re-animated And Better Than Ever! Hit: 5 Stars
Anyone that tells you that "Hybrid Theory" is better than "Reanimation" has to be out of their mind. I'm not gonna front, "Hybrid Theory" is a great album in most respects. "Reanimation", the album that remixes all of "Hybrid Theory"'s tracks as well as "My December" and "High Voltage", is what "Hybrid Theory" could and should have been in the first place. Most artists would get big-name producers and artists to do guest spots and remix songs. Linkin Park did the complete opposite (which I admire, because there's so much other talent out there that aren't mainstream) for this remix project. From well-known rock stars to underground hip-hoppers, the album features guest appearances from KoRn's Johnattan Davis (on the "One Step Closer" remix, adding that vampire feel), Staind's Aaron Lewis adds an emotional feel on the "Crawling" remix, and underground producer Alchemist(who also produced cuts for Nas on "God's Son" & Dilated Peoples, who oddly enough, also do a remix on this album, the "High Voltage" remix with Pharoahe Monch) as well as Jurassic 5 member Chali 2NA give "Forgotten" that dark feel. Other standouts include the X-Ecutioners' track with a freestyle by The Roots' Black Thought ("X-Ecutioner Style") and a new take on "By Myself", Josh Abraham & Deftones guitarist Stef Carpenter make the music more aggressive than the original. If you previously weren't into underground music, after listening to this rockin' album you'll want to purchase albums from Motion Man, Jurassic-5, Taproot, The Roots, Aceyalone, who all make guest appearances on this as well.
