This collection featuring two new tracks will give Lionel Richie fans an incentive to purchase the CD. Where are LOVE WILL CONQUER ALL and SE LA? They were Top 20 hits also. There are not only Richie's solo hits but his Commodores hits as well like EASY,THREE TIMES A LADY,JUST TO BE CLOSE TO YOU and SAIL ON. Hey,where are LADY(YOU BRING ME UP) and OH NO? They were Top 20 hits also. I'd like to get all the Commodores' non-compilation albums on CD also. Richie also wrote LADY(not the Commodores recording) for Kenny Rogers but did Richie himself ever record it? This collection could use Richie's recording of the 1980 Rogers hit. Tuskegee,Alabama-born Richie is also heard with ex-Supreme Diana Ross on his composition ENDLESS LOVE from the 1981 film of the same title(later covered by Mariah Carey with the late Luther Vandross). From Richie's '83 megahit CAN'T SLOW DOWN are ALL NIGHT LONG,PENNY LOVER,STUCK ON YOU,RUNNING WITH THE NIGHT and HELLO. You also get his first solo hits like TRULY and YOU ARE. From 1986's DANCING ON THE CEILING are the title track,BALLERINA GIRL and SAY YOU SAY ME(the latter was first released on the WHITE NIGHTS soundtrack album in 1985). This collection could also use Richie's recording of WE ARE THE WORLD(co-written with Michael Jackson). This album is a must for any R&B fan.Free Music Review: I love this album!

OK, this is a little odd. There seems to be two Lionel Richie Definitive Collections. The one has two discs, with a grand total of 38 tracks. This Definitive Collection has one disc with 20 tracks on it. To add to the confusion, the two albums seem to have the same cover on them!
As for this CD, well, I must say that I love it. It is a long way from having all of Lionel's songs, which probably blows the "Definitive Collection" angle. But, what it does have is 20 great Lionel Richie tune's - 20 tracks that I love listening to over and over and over again.
I do a lot of driving, and I like to have good music to listen to. Well, this album certain has a lot of that. Hello, Running With The Night, Penny Lover, Stuck On You. There is not one tune on this CD that is not great. I love this album and give it my highest recommendations!

As a Lionel Richie fan I found this CD to be a farce, a misnomer. This release is anything but "Definitive", for one simple reason, when one comes to the selection, "Still", it is a shorten version for radio play, not the original.
Shame on you Motown, for this is nothing short of a ruse, a sucker play. This is why I gave this release only three stars.
Otherwise this is a good collection of Mr. Richie's hits.

Beautiful songs by such a wonderful and talented singer. I listen to this CD over and over again while driving my car. Definitely recommend this collection of love songs!
