Free Music Review: Who makes the selections for movie soundtrack cd's?
Hit: 1 Stars

This is the last time I'm going to buy a movie soundtrack. The soundtrack from "Titanic" didn't include the "Gaelic Storm" music which accompanied the joyous folk dancing on the lower decks. The soundtrack from "Lord of the Dance" didn't include the fiddle solos. They actually slipped in some no-good imitations as substitutes for the best music of "Gangs of New York" as well as "Rob Roy." I couldn't believe it was happening when I listened to the sorry contaminated CD's I had bought in good faith. Over the years I have lost track of how many times the snotty movie makers have insulted my intelligence. This goes all way back to the soundtrack for "Romeo and Juliet." "Whale Rider" is the last straw, though. The movie itself was full of cheap-ass synthesizer music, and uncouth native religious chants. However, at the end credits it had some genuinely beautiful a capella Polynesian folk singing. I never can get enough of such music. Years ago I took an anthropology class where I learned that the Polynesians were the only primitive culture which learned to sing harmony. Those people really do it right! But guess which song was eliminated from the "Whale Rider" soundtrack? Of course the very song which inspired me to buy the soundtrack in the first place. I want to find out what kind of person is in charge of soundtrack selections. They are idiots! Fools! Chimpanzees!
