Free Music Review: Solid debut from Ms. Shaw!!

Lisa Shaw one the latest installments from the Naked Music label has probably the most upbeat album of the trio (Gaelle, Aya the other two) and more electronic sound of the three. She kinda takes if back to the 80's with this album mixing new school house with that 80's Prince-like feel to it. Lisa has an exceptional voice that carries you song after song with some in your face lyrics. "Cherry" gives you a Pharrell like sound that will get you into the album. "Grown Apart" and techno (make you wanna do the robot sounding) "Born To Fly" and high speed "Let it Ride" gives music lovers somethin to dance to.
I really like "Push Button" and "Hot Skin" and Lisa slows it down with the soul drifty sounds of "The Last Time" which takes you back to the Blue Six album (All I Need) she stays consistent without loosing you through those galactic rhythems. Now there are some flaws with this album like "Matter of Time" which sounds too R&Bish, and doesn't really blend in tight with the rest of the album. "Always", no comment, and I wasn't feeling "When I" to much either. With that said Lisa gives you a well balance of Naked Music and Soul that won't leave you disappointed.
3 1/2 stars. Very good and solid album from Lisa Shaw!!
