Free Music Notes for Road to HereFree Music Review: Actually, I would give it 6 stars ! Hit: 5 Stars
I'd never even heard of this group till recently , when I found a partially functioning CD in the grass by the side of the road , while out for a morning run. After hearing only a couple tracks from it - I knew I had to have ALL the songs ! This groups harmonies are rich and melodic - often reminding me of some of the best early Poco , and Eagles . But along with that , comes clever lyrics , combined with an often musically intricate blend of musical lines . No one lead person here - all four of those fine voices are heard in turn , as the other three do backup. As someone who has sung in large classical choruses , along with band work , this CD is so satisfying to sing along with ! My favorite tune is the dark and haunting " Bones " . May they produce many more !
Free Music Review: The Road to Here well worth the drive! Hit: 5 Stars
LBT's CD "The Road to Here" is the best CD I've bought in a long time. There's not a bad cut on this CD. Every person who has ridden in my car now knows LBT, and now owns a copy of the CD of their own. My fifteen-year-old daughter doesn't even give the option, she puts this CD in my CD player before we leave the driveway. In addition to the great music, these artists are great people. I was lucky enough to get to meet them at Dollywood where they were performing in 2005 and they are so genuine and caring. They truly love their fans. I'm so happy to see that they're gaining the success that they so deserve with "The Road to Here". Go see them in concert if they come to your area. They are so talented and "The Road to Here" should be in everyone's CD collection.
Free Music Review: The "Singing Meldies" I Love -not to mention harmonies Hit: 5 Stars
This CD, this group, is RIGHT up my alley! I love how the singing sounds in their songs, I like songs where the singing is eerie, and mournful. I love songs with singing melodies like "Good as Gone" "Bones" "Mean Streak" "Looking for a Reason" and "BoonDocks" as well. Especially "Good as Gone" and "Looking for a Reason"
As for the rest of the songs; They have good singing melodies too, and good music, not to mention them having EXCELLENT harmonies.
I recently seen them in concert and they did awesome, rocked out. AFterwards I just had to buy the cd, and it is great. I also got to meet them after the concert, they stayed until everyone got an autograph, now if that isn't dedicated.. they are great people and are great to their fans.
Go LBT!
Free Music Review: Solid return from LBT Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a fan of LBT's pleasing harmonies for years now and I am so glad they are back on radio with "Boondocks" - an ode to rural America - and The Road to Here in stores. I especially love "Welcome to the Family", a tongue-in-cheek warning to a new brother-in-law ('Uncle Bill's the undertaker's son, he'll dig a hole for you') it also has an awesome guitar line. From the somber ("Live With Lonesome" and "Lost") to the sweet "A Little More You", their harmonies are tight. "Bones" and "Good as Gone" are both fun to sing along to, Phillip's husky voice on "Bring it On Home" makes me weak in the knees and the acoustic version "Stay" is just...divine. I love how this album flows, my sweeties LBT have topped themselves. See them live if they come to your town!
Free Music Review: I give it my highest recommendations! Hit: 5 Stars
My daughter introduced me to Little Big Town - I must admit that I don't listen to too much Country music, so they came as a real surprise. But, it sure was a pleasant surprise! LBT is four fresh-faced youngsters that have a great sound, a sound that highly reminds me of Fleetwood Mac at their best, but given a great Country shine.
My favorite songs on this album are Boondocks (of course), Welcome To The Family, and Fine With Me. I love Boondocks and Fine With Me's salute to rural America, and Welcome To The Family is just plain hilarious. So, let me just say that if you are a fan of Country music, or just love that beautiful harmonizing that Fleetwood Mac did so well, then you will love this album. I give it my highest recommendations!
