Free Music Review: Beautiful Harmonies! Hit: 5 Stars
I am sucker for harmony, which is why I am such a fan of artists like Vince Gill, Allison Krauss, Rascal Flatts....Anyhow, I decided I had to own this CD after hearing "Boondocks" on the radio a couple of times. What's really cool is how there is not one lead vocalist - the songs alternate from female to male lead. There is only one song on this disc that I skip ("Welcome To The Family"). The rest are all fantastic and I can't help but sing along! I would list the standouts, but that would be nearly the entire CD!
Free Music Review: Quality album from a quality group Hit: 5 Stars
I think the underlying strength of this album are the melodies of the songs. I love that each of the members of the group get to sing lead on the various songs. This really helps freshen up things on a song to song basis.
I fell in love with the first two singles of this album. Both Boondocks and Bring It Down Home are really very radio friendly songs that showcases the talents of the group. The followup single Good As Gone is also a very good song which shows a different side to the group.
Free Music Review: Making a country music lover out of this rock lover Hit: 5 Stars
I was drawn in in the first five seconds of the song Boondocks. I loved the harmony, writing and music of this song. I love the bio on the band and what they have endured both personally and professionally.
A unique sound and a unique idea of the vocalist not only harmonizing but sharing the role of "lead vocals."
Not a typical country sound and very appealing to the music fan. I would recommend people give this band a fair shake. They are pretty darn good.
Free Music Review: Brought me to Country. Hit: 5 Stars
LBT's harmonies and and lyrics are better than any one genre. They may have difficulty making it because they aren't "only" a country band, "Down in the Boondocks" not withstanding. I haven't heard harmonies like these since the early Beach Boys or Hollies. They are glorious and the lyrics are worth listening to as well. I've been recommending this CD to everyone I know -- and actually started listening to other country artists, hoping to find others as good.
