Free Music Review: Teaches Musical Concepts to Pre-Schooler

This CD teaches musical terms such as crescendo and pianissimo to pre-schoolers. My 3 year old now knows many of the terms taught. It also plays musical selections from many great classical works. Hearing the stories over and over can be tiring, and some parts of the story you need to see to understand, a difficulty in translating a visual story directly onto an audio medium. However, this CD is a good investment. The Little Einsteins are well-mannered, intelligent children with a highly advanced vocabulary, a big change from the dumbing-down attitude in so many other children's cartoons. We have had this CD for nearly a year now and it is still a favorite. My 3 year old loves it any my 13 month old now pats along while in her car seat. I enjoy how they combine the story with the classical music and we use it frequently during short car trips or as "background noise" during play. We have never really used the booklet and clings that came with it since it was mostly used in the car and the small clings looked more like something to drop and get upset about or put in our mouths and choke!
Keep in mind, this is not an audio book read by a narrator, it is the kids voices from the Little Einsteins Show.

My daughter even makes up different words to the melodies she has learned. Riding in the car, with a classical station on, one of the symphonies comes on and my daughter sings the Little Einsteins words. When the symphony was over, she wanted to hear it again. Frustrated that I had no control over playing it again,buying this CD provides neverending and repeatable entertainment on the spot. We can repeat over and over again to her hearts content! She remembers the episodes in her head and knows the music by heart. Little Einsteins was a great invention!

This is like listening to an episode of the Little Einstins, with all of the colorful acting, voices, excellent classical music selections, etc. being provided. The only difference from a DVD is that you get to use your imagination to fill in the pictures. My kids LOVE this CD, and my nearly 2 year old son listened to it at naptime & bedtime for 6+ months before we finally got tired of it & convinced him to switch to something else for a while. My 3YO daughter simply adores this! She loves this more than the usual songs and rhymes we play in the car. The stories are great especially when she could visualise it (with a little imagination too) with the help of the liitle booklet which came with the CD. It's addictive, really! Now, she doesn't want to get out of the car until she hears the end of the little einstein adventure!
