Free Music Notes for Live & Swingin': The Ultimate Rat Pack CollectionFree Music Review: Sammy is King!! Hit: 5 Stars
I would first like to say that Dean and Frank are boss, and titans of the stage, but...it is Sammy who is truly the stand out talent here.Dean sings beautifully, Frank with a cool confidence, but Sammy is riveting. Someone made the comment that he over sings songs a little too much for their taste. Well, it does seem so only because he has so much more voice. It is a measurable difference. The timbre, it's strength only lead me to believe that his true talent (singing) never really was fostered because of the other many supreme talents he possesed. So, I say to you Sammy, from a life-long, dedicated Frank fan, you were truly the greatest entertainer that ever lived!

Bought this on a recommendation, and now I understand why this group is legendary. I've had some Frank CDs that I've liked (the Duets CDs are great!), but this package has made me a Rat Pack-ophile.
Ladies and Gents, the DVD alone is more than worth the purchase price; a couple other reviews detail the production, but I have to add a comment: from the moment Dean Martin takes the stage, I was hooked. I had no idea how talented he was! And Sammy!! That man is amazing. Why have I not heard more about them?!?
Seeing the talent, the humor and interaction, the obvious friendship, I now understand the legendary status of The Rat Pack.
Free Music Review: Pure Gold Hit: 5 Stars
These were truly talented men, who had great respect and affection for one another, and it shows on this DVD. Their artistry transcends time and hearkens back to a period when popular entertainment was meant for adults.
The songs are classics; the routines are hilarious. Overall, this DVD showcases their talent beautifully. Dean's singing and mannerisms are as wonderful as ever; Frank's singing is, well, heavenly, of course; and Sammy reveals himself to be one of the most versatile entertainers the world has ever seen -- he is truly spectacular.
Buy it. You will love it.
Free Music Review: Rat Pack Hit: 5 Stars
Having grown up in a household where Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr were my father's favorite entertainers we recently went and saw the production Rat Pack Live at the Sands. The show was great and I decided to see if there were any recordings of the real Rat Pack available. I stumbled upon this package and I was not disappointed and I am sure you will not be either. It is filled with many classic songs and skits, although Sammy isn't really given the opportunity to perform seriously, but from what I have heard that was the case during their shows.
Free Music Review: Classic Hit: 5 Stars
By far the best deal you can get if you're a fan of the Rat Pack (Sinatra, Martin, and Davis). The boys sing well and though the jokes are repeated and scripted, (Martin was the only true comic of the group) they never get old. Carson fills in admirably for Bishop on the DVD and even manages to sing an entertaining part in the unofficial theme song of the group, Birth of the Blues.
As a fan who never saw them in person, this is as close to them as I can get and it's almost enough.
