This is a great set. The CD will keep you entertained in the car, the DVD @ home. The comedy is so much better visually, Sammy Davis Jr.'s impressions are outstanding. The trio's sharp wit is infused throughout the collection, it would seem that no subject was safe from their comedic whims. I am simply thrilled with this collection. This concert probably marked the twilight of the Rat Pack. Sinatra was just three years away from his first retirement. Nevertheless, great look into one of the legendary performances of this renowned trio. Other treats include an appearance of Johnny Carson before he moved the Tonight Show from New York to LA and performances by the Count Basie Band led by Quincy Jones. The Ultimate Rat Pack Collection: Live and Swingin is just that....the ultimate. The CD is great. You can visualize them up on the stage together singing and having some fun. Then, you get the DVD! It is well worth the price just for that. Different songs appear on the DVD. You get to really see them sing and interact with each other. The friendship, the silliness...it's all there. This is an excellent purchase! You not only get a great cd, but also a wonderful dvd. I was hesitant at first to purchase this when it came out: due to the low budget, and bad sounding stuff out on the market.
However, the sound quality is good, so don't hesitate to pick this up! The dvd alone is worth the price. It's nice to see the crew in action and to see the late great Johnny C. as well!!
