Free Music Notes for Midwinter Night's DreamFree Music Review: Outstanding Holiday Music Hit: 5 Stars
I've long been a fan Loreena McKennitt and she always amazes me with her music. The instruments, many a lot of people have never seen or know what are, add a unique beauty to her music that can not be matched. The "Seven Rejoices of Mary" was one of my favorite off the CD. If you like Loreena, then you'll definitely enjoy this and it'll add a special touch to your next Christmas. I'll enjoy mine for many years to come.
Free Music Review: She's like sheer magic Hit: 5 Stars
I am always figuratively entranced when I listen to a Loreena McKennitt song. The depth and the soul, and the artistry, found within them. With this cd, she completes one of her previous recordings, "A winter garden," creating a beautiful new Christmas album. One can almost feel an invocation of the winter spirits. As usual, her singing is grand and her music is better. This cd is quite worth it.
Free Music Review: A Midwinter Winner Hit: 5 Stars
Of the 13 pieces on this CD, 5 appeared on the earlier, very brief CD "A Winter Garden." Didn't matter. I wanted it anyhow. If you're a Loreena McKennett fan, you will love this CD, and you won't care any more than I do that 5 of the 13 appeared before. It has the middle east, "caravan" sound common to much of her music, and that certainly brings new life to old pieces. I think it's great.
Free Music Review: There isn't a word to describe it Hit: 5 Stars
There is nothing this woman can put out that I won't buy. This CD was incredible, as is everything she does. The best part for me was being able to download the music while I waited for the CD to come in the mail! I enjoyed the traditional mixed with the unique. I don't normally go for Christmas/Holiday music (too commercial), but I was NOT disappointed in this compilation. Definately BUY!
Free Music Review: Last year Josh Groban's Noel was the best. This year its Loreena McKennitt Hit: 5 Stars
I've always loved Loreena's voice, a rare mystical experience. There's no one quite like her out there. This Cd is a gem pure and simple. I really can't understand why Enya's album is number one, while this one is 26th. My only explanation is that too many people don't know of McKennitt's talent. That really is sad because she's a treasure. Trust me, you will not regret buying this one.
