I bought this CD for the song "Dante's Prayer" but fell in love with the the entire CD and all the music of Loreena McKennitt. Dante's Prayer is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. I am not exaggerating at all. Loreens's music is like food to the soul. I bought other CD's by Loreena McKennitt and they are all great and well worth buying. "The Book Of Secrets" is still my very favorite. Great for relaxing. Let Loreena take you back to a time when chivalry and romance was at it's peak. Enjoy poetry by Tennyson and other great poets and feel them like never before with the heavenly voice of Loreena McKennitt.Free Music Review: This was my first of Loreena McKennitt

I am not going to pull each of her songs apart. I just want to say that its is amazing how she does it. The songs sound like thy came from antiquity and her singing can mesmerize you. You get whisked away in to another world. And I was surprised to find Alfred Noyes' poem "The Highwayman" on the CD. It is also illustrated in a 32 page paperback ISBN: 0192723707 and if you can find a copy of "1000 Beautiful Things" by Majorie Barrows ASIN: 0801555620 it is in there also.

I have had this cd before, my [...]son stepped on it and broke it. I had to have it replaced. When I am sick, or just needing to relax I put on Loreena Mckennitt. Her soothing voice and music makes my stress level go way down. The music also helps lull my children to sleep if they are having a fitful time getting to sleep. This is one of my favorite cds ever. I am never without a copy of it. It is a must have if you like celtic types of music, or if you have fussy kids. I highly recommend this cd.Free Music Review: The Book of Secrets

Loreena McKennitt is one of the least known Irish folk singers while being one of the best. I've known about her for about 10 years and have several of her cd's. I first heard her while listening to an Irish radio station on the internet and heard her sing "The Highwayman" which is an epic poem. I was blown away and HAD to have that cd and after hearing the rest of the music on it, have become a big fan. Take a chance and you will not be disappointed.
