This is very new-world folk style music. It is filled with beautiful instruments, traditional Celtic drums, and haunting ancient tales. Her voice carries perfectly like a little birds floating over the tips of pounding trees and swaying on a foggy current of air. This was the first CD that introduced me to the enchanting music of Loreena McKennitt. I was blown away by her music! She's a great story teller through her lyrics and and they go beautifully with different exotic instruments. It led me to purchase additional works of this talented artist. Her music is like that of Enya but really very singular. It's hauntingly beautiful and her voice soothes the soul. The songs are all superb. It is hard to choose one favorite song. They are all great. It is a CD the traditional Celtic music lover will adore. There is no way to lose here.
