Free Music Review: Wow! What an album! Hit: 5 StarsI'll have to say I don't typically listen to country music because most of it sounds the same. The typical bubble gum pop music wanna be's, but this album is absolutely incredible. I almost wish I wouldn't have bought it because I can't seem to quit listening to it. Loretta Lynn's genuine down home voice along with her amazing lyrics shows nothing but class and she is definitely a class act. Jack White's production and music just makes it that much better. This album definitely deserved to be named "Album of the Year" by the Grammy Association. Too bad the CMA Awards didn't recognize this phenomenal piece! Congrats to Loretta and Jack both!
Free Music Review: Kevin Hit: 5 StarsWhat an awesome album. This is a real gem. Loved every song!

Free Music Review: This years hidden little jewel. Hit: 5 StarsThe best Rock n Roll album of the year!
The best Country album of the year!
She better sweep the Grammys for the boldest CD, most emotionally raw CD I have heard in 2 decades,, PERIOD!
Free Music Review: Mix of Genres is Great: Loretta's Got it! Hit: 5 StarsUsually when musical genres combine the result is effectual and interesting but not very good. But this isn't a usually and Loretta Lynn and Jack white aren't Usual people. Loretta Lyn's music is terrific because it is SO REAL. It is clean pure and straight from her hear and at 70 years old she continues in this direction. I am not a country music fan but have always a special fondness for Loretta Lynn's music. Jack White's band, The White Stripes is able to do more with Guitar and drums than any other band in recent history and while Jack himself is a bizarre person who at times seems like a rodeo clown or something his ability to make his music "work" is astounding.
One listen to this album will clarify exactly why it has received so much acclaim. Loretta Lynn has a lot of music left in her and her voice though mellow and mature is still strong and powerful. I am glad that Jack White has stepped out of his genre and is an adept musician. And for the two of them the mixing of country and punk (which might seem to be the hardest button to button) is a perfect fit. This is a must have and lets hope these two see some Grammy's for their great work.
A great album.
