Los Lonely Boys never fail to amaze me. As young men sharing the music spirit that is ever changing, ever growing, moving through the facets of life experience. Like the cyle of a summer rain.. . songs of many potencies arrive in each track. The light clean smell of a rainclouds in the distance, to the rumbling and stratis changing of rolling clouds, growing to a thundering light storm, complete with a final brilliant rainbow. . Forgiven is one of these welcome rains.
I never quite know what to expect from Los Lonely Boys AND I love it! I heard a few of the songs live but was PLEASED to tears with each original strum of Henry's guitar, soaring voice of Jojo and powerful cadence of Ringo's drums (and VOICE) on this release.
With each song, I smiled listening to insight that Brothers Garza are sharing with us. Heart Won't Tell a Lie, brought me to my dancing feet, rocking out with fury. Forgiven's humble plea brought me to my own self awareness. Staying with me & Loving you. . Always reminded me of that first chance at love. "I'm a MAN" of course brought me to the rock of the 70's, (great cover!greater LIVE!) and Make it Better made me miss Lennon/McCartney, and was thankful that LLB was influenced by them. When I reached "You Can't See the Light" I surrendered into tears, admitting my own times of dispair and the beauty of that acceptance. What a beautiful embrace of recognizing how valueable friends, faith and our own human spirit is.
I too hate Walmart and wish the decision to award these two bonus tracks were in line with LLB usually does in benefiting Literacy organizations, Big Brothers/Big Sisters or some other worthy cause. I did get my 3rd and 4th cd there because of the bonus tracks and have wanted everyone I know to hear GUERO in the Barrio which is great fun.
Don't you just love that each cd having varying differences from the last? LLB is not predictable but are changing and growing and staying true to what they want to sing about. Hopefully the public is aware enough to appreciate this gift of great talent.
Free Music Review: Technical sophistication with the warmth of old friends

The new Los Lonely Boys CD was released today and I give it a very big two thumbs up! This new CD is the most technically-sophisticated music Los Hermanos Garza have released and this is keeping in mind that they set the bar very high with their first CD in 2004. They just keep getting better! Henry and the Fender Stratt were made for each other. The amazing vocals never become lost in the music. These are voices which stand out as musical instruments in their own right and the Garzas have a lot to say with their music. It is about life and family and struggles and overcoming, but it is great, feel-good music. Dr. John was credited on four tracks and his gentle influence comes through but in a way which surprised me. The tracks on which he performed are not "Dr. John" tracks. He added his smooth spice but became part of the songs, rather than the other way around. This is part of the overall musical sophistication I see throughout this CD. My favourite track? This moment it is "Loving You Always" for the upbeat ritmo and the outstanding lyrics but by evening, I will have more favourites. "Make It Better" is already working on me in a major way. Value for money? I consider this CD to be worth (easily) twice the price. This is not one to listen to once and toss in a corner. This will be on my playlist for a very long time. WoW! Thank you for another album that won't leave my CD player for a long time. The Boys just keep getting better. Heart Won't Tell A Lie is a rockin' turn it up and sing it out loud song (even though I can't sing). Make It Better is very Beatle-ish. 2 of my other favorites are Another Broken Heart and Loving You Always. Also There's A War Tonight(Wal-Mart version). Heck, really I could list them all here, there are all EXCELLENT. There's not a single song I skip over when listening to it. They all really shine here. Buy this album and you will NOT be disappointed. Anyone who gives it less than 4 stars needs to listen to it again, and again. Ok, I'm not a fan of Walmart, but I got a gift cert for my bday and I immediately purchased Los Lonely Boys and my other fave Tom Petty, aka Mudcrutch. (It's funny, because both of their previous albums came out at the same time, too.) Anyway, MY POINT: LLBs CD at Walmart gives you two extra songs! So I hate it that you have to shop around to see which songs are on which CDs at which store. And, I hate Walmart, but I love LLB so I did what I had to do. :D I can't give a fair review of the CD not having finished listening to it, and because I'd love it even if they were just singing the phone book. So buy it at any store you want to and decide for yourself!Free Music Review: Five Stars! It grooves and it rocks!

I just heard this new release by Los Lonely Boys and I love it! It has a live sound to it- feels like you are right there at one of their concerts. The lead vocals and harmonies work great on all the songs. The signature guitar riffs are there- for all you fans of lead guitarist Henry! This is a CD that is very enjoyable- the kind you will listen to while driving in your car or BBQing in your backyard. It reminds me of their first CD, but with a more mature and fuller sound. Favorites: Forgiven, Heart Won't Tell A Lie, I'm a Man, Superman.
