Free Music Notes for ForgivenFree Music Review: music Hit: 4 Stars
I like this CD however it seems to be sounding all the same as the others
Free Music Review: WHAT HAPPENED TO "TEXICAN ROCK AND ROLL?" Hit: 3 Stars
What I loved about these guys was their latin rock vibe (Senorita), the latin rhythms (Oye Mamacita) and the interplay with spanish lyrics..(Heaven)...And a whole lot of Henry's guitar (Onda)....Well, there is none of that here..Well, some guitar but not enough for me...Henry, you're fantastic...Don't hold back, brother.
My two favorite songs from this record are the two bonus tracks you only get if you buy from Wal-Mart. ("There's A War Tonight" and "Guero In The Barrio"...Who's that singing?)
But there are some good songs here. "Make It Better" could have been written by Paul McCartney, and "Staying With Me" should be a solid hit. The bottom line is that LLB is the best "live" band in the country. This cd doesn't convey how good LLB is, and I hope this is not the direction they (Epic) is going with them.
Free Music Review: WOW...disappointing!!! Hit: 2 Stars
This is a pretty weak effort by LLB, what happened? I don't really hear anything on here to get too excited about. The songs are fairly short, as well as the album as a whole. It's just not very rockin', what did Sony do to them? Let's face it, Sacred was only half as good as the self-titled album, and Forgiven is only half as good as Sacred. What do you have left, an effort only one-quarter as good as their debut. I'll give it 2 stars for the only songs I actually like on here, I'm A Man (nice cover), and Cruel (sounds like it easily could have been on Sacred). Although, I'm not thoroughly thrilled by this release, they are still one of THE best live bands out there! Be sure to check them out, hopefully they'll bust out a half-hour Onda on you!
Free Music Review: Not what I expected for... Hit: 2 Stars
I think I am a fan of the guys.
As I saw that the new work of the group were produced by Steve Jordan I immediately bought the album
But to me it seems that the sound is not so immediate, maybe too "blues"...everybody knows that the 3rd album is the most difficult for most of the bands (the 1st is new, fresh, the 2nd follow the way you opened, the 3rd, as in this case, is neather fish or flash....)..
Maybe the problem is that in this album, on my opinion, there is no a big hit, just as in the previous ones
I hope that the guys can work on the new materials, and play live the new songs giving them new life.
Free Music Review: stick to the earlier stuff Hit: 1 Stars
This album sounds like a watered down version of far fresher, far more interesting earlier work. What happened? Dunno. In a nutshell, my advice: Stick with the early stuff. It's way better. More interesting. Los Lonely Boys need to move forward, not regurgitate the past.
