Free Music Notes for Los Lonely Boys

Free Music Review: completely unoriginal, completely enjoyable
Hit: 5 Stars

Add Eagles, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Mana, shake and mix well, and you get Los Lonely Boys; lime and salt optional.

Sure the latinesque rock guitar riffs (think "Hotel California") drumbeats, and group vocals are formulaic and have been done to death by the predecessor groups mentioned above, however, this lack of authenticity and originality takes away nothing from this stunning debut. This album is bonafide 5 stars ear-candy. Los lonely boys have studied well and have revived that catchy classic tequila rock sound, making this album equivalent to essentially a best of compilation of the genre.

Hopefully, with time the group will mature into their own sound, but they are off to a great start even if they do sound like a cover band. Ironically, perhaps the most original thing about them is their naivete as shown in their generic senor meets senorita lyrics; shallow yes but sung with heartfelt conviction.

Free Music Review: What Are They, Really?
Hit: 5 Stars

After picking this album up for cheap in my local used record store (it was a "staff pick" and this staff has good taste!), I was very curious to surf the web and see what other people had to say. I loved them instantly, though I've only begun to forumulate why.

Their sound could be labeled "derivative" or an "homage." They borrow from a number of traditions. Their lyrics are exceedingly simple. It's kind of cool that they translate the lyrics from Spanish to English and back (and capture the same spirit in both places), but the reading level of their lyrics is about eighth or ninth grade in either language. Is that a drawback?

It's the beauty of the vocals and the orchestrations that make the songs work. There's an emotional honesty and simplicity of delivery, and a pleasant texture to the men's voices. The arrangements are laid back and hip enough to keep it from American Idol land.

So far, I'm impressed.

Free Music Review: Los Lonely Boys ARE heaven!
Hit: 5 Stars

I first saw snippits of Los Lonely Boys in commercials for the Austin WB channel. I really didn't know much about them but I definitely liked their sound.

Over the next few months I started hearing their songs on the local radio stations and I fell in love with them. Sure their lyrics can be sappy at times but that's just part of their charm. They are beyond talented and quite obviously live for their music.

When I found they were opening for Willie Nelson I camped out at my computer waiting for tickets to go on sale and I managed to snag some front row seats!! To make a long story short, I had to keep from throwing myself on stage. They have an incredible energy and an unavoidable charisma. Knowing that they are siblings makes their group even more unique.

You won't regret buying this album! It has a sound that most anyone can appreciate and melodies that you'll find yourself humming day after day. Buy this now!

Free Music Review: If I could give it 10 stars I would!
Hit: 5 Stars

I was introduced to Los Lonely Boys by my old roomate one night after a bunch of us left the bar, and had an after party at his old apartment. We were looking to play some tunes to get the after party started, and see if we could get the ladies that came back with us dancing. He ran down to his jeep, and said pop this one in. I was blown away by the style, the sound, and the lyrics of these very talented musicians. Well I'm sad to say that was about a year ago, and my roomate got married (not to one of the ladies at the after party however) moved out and took his cd with him even though I tried to hide it. So I had to buy it for myself, the spiritual and heart felt sound of this cd is one that you can just hit play, and Los Lonely Boys will do the rest. Thanks Adam for the introducing me to them, and I look forward to more of their music for years to come. Thanks for letting me share with you guys.

Free Music Review: Amazing Music!
Hit: 5 Stars

Having just recently hearing these guys on the radio, I rarely listen to the radio here in Tucson, but very glad I did that day! I went right to Amazon and bought it and now it is living in my CD player and it will be quite a while before I take it out! Every song brings out more and more of these guys talents, such melodic, fun, upbeat music and brotherly ties! Santana/SRV influences, but not these guys are NOT copycats, truly unique! From the very beginning of this CD with "Senorita" wrenching-smokin' guitar riffs, 6 string bass and drums! Can't wait to see these guys LIVE and the progressions which will influence these guys who are definitely on their wayto the top. Also saw them on The View this morning playing their radio hit "Heaven", good looking "Lonely boys" too! It's so wonderful to have good Hispanic music which is fun and not RAP for a change! KUDOS Boys!!!!
