Free Music Notes for Los Lonely BoysFree Music Review: RUN, DON'T WALK, TO BUY THIS CD! Hit: 5 Stars
I just happened to catch part of a commercial for this CD on TV, liked the sound, and picked up the CD within days. NOT a letdown! As several other reviewers have said, they have a very different sound, with shades of Santana mixed in. A mellow yet energetic sound, if that makes sense. (You just have to hear it) NO ONE that I know of sounds like this. Instant gratification!
Addendum: It's now July 20th, I've had this CD for over a month, and it's pretty much the ONLY thing I listen to! These guys are great, don't let the bad reviews fool you! What I love is that every song is a little different - some groups you listen to have the same sound to every song, and it gets a little boring. Not these guys! You can hear traces of a lot of different influences in their music - jazz, blues, rock, Latin, and sometimes even a little bit of 60s surfer-type music! JUST BUY IT!!

These guys are talented. It is nice to finally hear some real musical talent ,unlike some of this other crap out today. In my opinion, these guys offer some really good material, music wise the guitarist is pretty good at what he does,vocally- they're good & harmonize really good too.Drumming & Bass playing are tight as well, although nothing really fancy.I do have to agree that they do have obvious musical styles in(the guitar work)that sounds like they've listened to SRV & Santana and want to emulate them. That's allright. Most musicians have a mentor(s).If you like Santana,SRV & you like the 70s style blues-based Rock with a mixture of Mexican/Latin flare and solid vocals & harmonies-this is it.This is a "GREAT CD".This is what talent suppose to sound like.Nothing wimpy here.A solid collection of some really good material.Buy-It-Now!You won't be sorry!
Free Music Review: Great from Start to Finish Hit: 5 Stars
The best way for me to describe this album is to say it's a mix between Eric Clapton and Santana. The release is perfect; there's not much--if anything--like it crossing over into the maintstream. It's easy to see how it appeals to many diverse listeners, though. This album has everything: rock, blues, a bit of country and western, and some great south-of-the-border tunes as well. I can listen to this whole album, no skipping tracks, because it's that good. Not only can these guys play their instruments to perfection, their harmony is excellent, too. It's nice to hear such quality musicianship for a change! Thank you, Los Lonely Boys, and good luck. I hope to hear more from this band in the future.Quick note: I used to live in San Angelo, from where these three brothers hail, and I'm proud to see people putting West Texas on the map.
Free Music Review: Refreshing Rock Hit: 5 Stars
I need to begin this review with a simple statement: THIS IS A GREAT ROCK ALBUM!!! Critics have coined their sound Texican rock, but the points to remember here are that they sound neither clinically "Smithsonian," as do too many roots-rock groups, nor unvarnished, as do too many garage rock bands, The comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Santana have been coming fast and furious--and they are warranted. However, I'd like to add a name to the list: Dicky Betts. Henry Garza's fluid guitar work (Does this guy ever play a wrong note?!) goes down as easy as a cool beer washing down southern BBQ. As a band, the Garza brothers are as tight as a James Brown rhythm section. Also, Jamband afficiandos will appreciate Onda. My only fear is that this band will take the dreaded "Best New Artist" award at the Grammys.
Free Music Review: Simply Amazing Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is in my player 24/7. I haven't listened to anything else on CD since I've bought it. I 've got to have that LLB every day. Every song on the CD is great, so it's hard to choose a favorite. I just love it all.
This trio of brothers are tight and their vocal harmonies will impress you. If you love great guitar like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Johnny Winter, than you will love Henry Garza. Henry is such a natural and has been playing since he was 4. JoJo Garza is Bass player of the Year and rightly so. Ringo Garza is an excellent drummer and has the perfect name. All 3 are so talented and their music is amazing.
At the Austin Music Awards this cd won Album of the Year. They also won Band of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rock Band, and prev. mentioned Bass Player of the Year.
