Free Music Notes for Los Lonely BoysFree Music Review: Finally, REAL Music! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the best CD I have heard/bought for many years. It is very rare to hear this type of beautiful music on the radio. When I first heard "Heaven", I took notice. Than I heard "Dime Me Amour" and I was sold on this Band. I knew nothing about them at the time. When the CD arrived, I couldn't believe my ears. I LOVED every single song on this CD. The more times I hear these songs, the more I love them. Henry Garza is one of the BEST I have heard on guitar. He does sound like a combination of Stevie Rae Vaughn and Carlos Santana--thank God for it! I hope to have these guys around for a long time to come.
I have just ordered "Blue Cat Blues". It still has not arrived; but if it is half as good as the self-titled CD, I am in for a real treat. I recommend this Band without reservation.
Free Music Review: This band ended my boycot of new music! Hit: 5 Stars
I have been collecting much older music rather than buying the new stuff because there are few new artists that interest me. Los Lonely Boys interest me because they are great musicians, singers and performers while in concert (toured with Santana). Their sound is familiar and very catchy without being a tribute band. Maybe not for a Delta Bluesman, their music is played on Rock, Pop and Country music stations.
I purchased this CD and began to sample similar artists from their recent releases of the last 5-10 years. I had been enjoying Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shephard and recently purchased more CD's. The Artists; Arc Angels, Doyle Bramhall II, Chris Duarte, Joe Bonamassa, Indigenous and Derek Trucks have some great newer releases.
Give this CD a try if you miss the great music of the past.
Free Music Review: in a word...wow Hit: 5 Stars
I haven't heard a new album by a new artist in years that I've loved every song and enjoyed the entire album start-to-finish, over-and-over. I think LLB is my favorite new band.
Great songs, great vocals, great guitar, and great grooves. Henry, Jojo, and Ringo have such a fresh sound, and it still sounds seasoned. I very nicely honed blend of R&B, blue-rock, pop, country, and Mexican rock stylings. I just put the album and start listening. Song after song, its a very enjoyable experience. "Heaven", "Dime Mi Amor", "Hollywood", "Nobody Else", and so many others. I've seen interviews with the band and the CMT special with Ronnie Milsap. It seems the group is really humble and straight-forward about they do. I can't wait to see them live soon.
I highly recommend this album.
Free Music Review: If LLB called, Pedrino, you didn't answer... Hit: 5 Stars
In re: the "Los Lonely Boys Called..." review by Pedrino, evidently he/she didn't answer the call. These guys can't be painted into a one-genre corner of music. They've paid their dues and have traveled the stations of the cross. If there is anyone who doesn't like SOME of their music, then they aren't getting it---LLB offers something for everyone. It's fantastic to hear a band that's honest and real, and singing from their souls. For the uninitiated, you should listen to a song or 2 that you can tolerate, listen again and again, then listen to more songs in the same manner. The Conjunto sound will become more alive each time you listen. It also helps to read about and listen to what they and others have to say about their background, family commitment, work ethic, and love of music, pure and simple.
Free Music Review: A Fantastic Musical Experience!! Hit: 5 Stars
About a few months ago, I was driving along with the radio playing, and I heard the song "Heaven" for the first time. The song "grabbed" me... I knew I had to "hear more" from this group of talented musicians. I bought the cd... and what a treat it was for me!! It's truly a fantastic musical experience!! This cd delivers one good song after another, which is a rare accomplishment for many artists today. My favorite songs (though it was difficult for me to choose!) are: "Heaven", "Dime Mi Amor", "More Than Love", "Nobody Else" and "Crazy Dream". Since I've enjoyed this cd so much, I'll definitely purchase "Sacred" (the new Los Lonely Boys cd) soon. If you like Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Richie Valens combined with catchy guitar riffs, good lyrics and excellent vocals... then you'll enjoy this cd!!!
