Free Music Notes for Los Lonely BoysFree Music Review: Los Lonely Boys - Another reason the best music comes from TEXAS! Hit: 5 StarsI have everything they've put out on CD or DVD and can't get enough. I never miss a chance to see em' live! I'm lucky to live in Austin. We have some of the best local music thus giving us the name "Live Music Capital of the World".
What amazes me most is the ages of these brothers. Ringo the drummer is 22, JoJo the most incredible 6 string bass player I've ever seen is 24 and Henry, 26 makes his guitar magical. They write, sing, play and even change instruments in the middle of shows. Sometimes you don't even notice! Just take some SRV, add a little Carlos Santana and then some of their own unique blues style and gosh knows what we'll hear when they hit their 30's or 40's!! Buy the DVD Los Lonely Boys - Texican Style (Live from Austin)~! You won't regret it!!
I miss SRV, Arc Angels, Storyville and many other local bands that were cut short by tragedy or other reasons. If you get a chance, pick up some Vallejo. They are harder edged but incredible and my second favorite to LLB!! Also check out Pushmonkey and Podunk. If you step out of our borders, check out Indigenous. They are an awesome hard edged blues band as well.
Free Music Review: Los Lonely Boys Hit: 5 StarsI love this CD!
The Garza brothers sound super together.
They harmonize well and personally I like how they mix some Spanish lyrics in just about every song.
Hope album #2 is just as hot!
Free Music Review: listen up Hit: 4 StarsLLB rock with a talented young trio of brothers who can actually write, sing, and play. Their CD is a refreshing reprieve from the usual fluff dominating the airwaves. In fact, it is rumored that the band had trouble finding a record deal...wonder why the industry is in trouble? My extensive CD collection includes Los Lobos, Santana, and SRV among my favorites, and yes, there is room for this CD, too. Was not too impressed at first listen, but got hooked after another couple of spins. The CD features soaring vocal harmonies, virtuoso guitarwork and tuneful melodies. The bass and percussive lines seem a bit understated, but not enough to detract from enjoyment. Overall, an excellent CD, and hope for a little harder, bluesier effort next time. Also, the Boys can really knock it out in concert...catch them live if you can.
Free Music Review: This band ended my boycot of new music! Hit: 5 StarsI have been collecting much older music rather than buying the new stuff because there are few new artists that interest me. Los Lonely Boys interest me because they are great musicians, singers and performers while in concert (toured with Santana). Their sound is familiar and very catchy without being a tribute band. Maybe not for a Delta Bluesman, their music is played on Rock, Pop and Country music stations.
I purchased this CD and began to sample similar artists from their recent releases of the last 5-10 years. I had been enjoying Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shephard and recently purchased more CD's. The Artists; Arc Angels, Doyle Bramhall II, Chris Duarte, Joe Bonamassa, Indigenous and Derek Trucks have some great newer releases.
Give this CD a try if you miss the great music of the past.
Free Music Review: Good Stuff Hit: 4 StarsVery good CD. All of the songs can grab you and they work well together.
