Free Music Notes for SacredFree Music Review: Sophomore blues? Yeah, right! Hit: 5 Stars
Los Lonely Boys (los Hermanos del Garza, if I may be allowed to practice my rudimentary Spanish) have a knack: combining expert musicianship with catchy rhythms/lyrics. The result is spectacular--their debut album was a knock-out, and their sophomore effort only continues to display their many talents.
From heartbreak to eternal love, to divine devotion, SACRED is an album of...well, sanctity. These three gentlemen seem to worship their music, to thrive on their melodies...and we can only thank them for it. The songs here are just as enjoyable as those on the first (there's no instrumental this time around, but the guys get enough picking/playing room to display their versitile talents), and the duet with father Enrique Sr. and Willie Nelson is pure outlaw enjoyment (good thing the song is entitled "Outlaws"). SACRED is a true rock/Tejano/Texicano/country/blues record...it is an album celebrating the virtues of music, by 3 of the most talented musicians today.
Free Music Review: SACRED BY LOS LONELY BOYS Hit: 5 Stars
THE BOYS HAVE STAYED TRUE TO THEIR TEXMEX ROOTS AND TO THE 50/60'S SOUND FROM WORKING WITH THEIR FATHER. THEY ADD IN THEIR YOUNG STYLE AND SOUNDS AND COME OUT TOTALY UNIQUE. THEY ATTRACT THE YOUNG WITH THE NEWER SOUNDS AND SET A GREAT EXAMPLE, SUCH AS THEY ARE YOUNG, HIP, AND MEXICANO'S WITH THEIR TATTOOS, AND YET THEY ARE ALWAYS HAPPY, POSITIVE AND VERY TALENTED!! AND THEY ATTRACT MY GENERATION AS WELL - 50 SOMETHING. I BOUGHT THE CD FOR 'DIAMONDS' HEARING IT ONCE AND WAS SOLD - THEN I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE ENTIRE CD! I LOOK FOR THESE BOYS TO GO FAR - PROVIDING THEY KEEP THE SAME ATTITUDE AND SOUNDS. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS NEW CD. AND AM THRILLED!! I SAW THEM HERE IN DENVER AT THE FILMORE AND THEY WERE SO FUN TO WATCH, THEY HAD A GREAT TIME, WE, THE AUDIANCE HAD A GREAT TIME, AND IT WAS L O V E!! MY DAUGHTER TOOK ME FOR MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT, AND SHE LOVES THEM ALSO --- VIVA LOS LONELY BOYS !!!
Free Music Review: Here to STAY! Hit: 5 Stars
Sacred finds the Boys in excellent form. This second CD does not disappoint at all. If anything, it surprises by the fact that the Boys have gotten even better than anyone thought possible, including those of us who had heard many of the songs in concert. Sacred has the same great guitar rifts, melodies and harmonies as the self-titled CD but with a deeper, more mature overall sentiment and the addition of new instruments. My personal favorite, My Loneliness, combines spiritual lyrics with a haunting melody to create a song of extraordinary beauty. This one uplifts the soul. The CD has a wonderful blend of fun, feel good songs such as Diamonds, Oye Mamacita and Texican Style combined with spiritual gems such as My Loneliness, Home, One More Day, Orale, and the defiant My Way and Living My Life. Sacred proves that these Boys are here for the long haul, Thank God!!
Free Music Review: The band to beat! Hit: 5 Stars
Everybody said they couldn't do it---follow their big hit debut album---but guess what? THEY DID IT! Debuting the Billboard charts at #2, rock charts at #1. This one will be up and down the popularity charts, because it's got something for everyone, and will appeal to you at different times in different ways. You'll think one song's your favorite this week, and then, WAIT, no, this song's my favorite..These songs GROW on you, dude! They speak to your heart. That's their appeal, and that's why these brothers will be around for a very long, long time. Mix that with their amazing musicianship and blistering, stratospheric LIVE shows---and you will soon be beggin' for more!
Free Music Review: It's a different feel Hit: 5 Stars
My first listen...I wasn't that impressed. My second listen...I'm liking it more and more. It doesn't have a lot in common with their first cd. However, this cd can definitely stand on it's own and bring a lot of new fans into the LLB fold, sorta speak.
What I like the most about this cd...LLB stay true to their Tex-Mex heritage. I absolutely love that west Texas sound. I love SRV and SRV w/Double Trouble. LLB do not try to copy [always a plus], but if you love SRV you will love LLB.
Sit back, pop a cold one and enjoy. This is a great relaxing cd, driving cd, and feel good cd.
