Free Music Review: The Test of Time

In the last few days something has inspired me to start listening to the Lostprophets again. I'm not sure what inspired me to be quite honest, but I'm glad I got the inkling, because this album is just as amazing as it was when I first heard it in 2004.
Back in 2004 there were a lot of bands on the pop-emo-punk scene, pretty much caused directly by the growing popularity of the Warped Tour. Lostprophets was one of those bands that really blew up huge with their ridiculously catchy "Last Train home", pretty much what I remember as being the reason for buying the album.
Upon inserting the album though you are immediately greeted with powerful guitars, thumping drums, and top-notch vocals only complimented by the lyrics. This album is easily one of my favorite releases in the past five years. It perfectly balances a mix of rock, metal, pop, and new-wave into a very well produced and arranged album that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
If you like this album you may also enjoy their first release, "The Fake Sound of Progress", it's a little more raw and the bands singer had yet to discover his voice's potential, but it's still a very good release. Their newest album, "Liberation Transmission" is great in it's own respect, but they pretty much lost the hard-rock edge in favor of a more mainstream sound.
If you are interested (even in the slightest) in Lostprophets then this album should be picked up immediately.
