Free Music Review: best of Bega ! Hit: 5 StarsThis is an older cd...but...one of my favorites. I especially
love Mambo #5. It is a song that means a lot to me..and someone else. The entire cd has a terrific beat...and sound. It is Bega at his very best !!! I would really love to see him in a concert!
Free Music Review: No you can not tico-tico me! Hit: 1 StarsOkay,My friend burned this a long time ago 4 me.and it sucked.I h8 this 1 hit wonder.I will never give Limp Bizkit,Uncle Kracker,Eminem,Snow, and Black Eyed peas a chance cuz I do NOT want stupid band names in my collection.I almost rejected Atomic Kitten outright becuz of their lame name.Gee,might as name ur band "Atomic Puppy" of "Atomic Parrot".Thic C.D. has lame lyrics such as, "I think 1+1=10." Wrong-o! "all I need is a mobile phone-2 tell everybody "I'm not @ home"." DUHH! Sry,only 4 stupid ppl.
Free Music Review: Bouncy and Fun Hit: 4 StarsWho cares if this is great music or not or if Lou Bega has a good voice or not? This is playful, fun, bouncy music. It even makes those of us who don't dance feel like shaking it up. I bought this on a whim for one song that I heard in a commercial for a large telecommunications company (1+1=2) and was hoping that wasn't the only good song on the album, as so often happens. It wasn't. The whole album is great fun to listen to. This is music that most everyone can enjoy, with a touch of naughty pleasures. Several songs are about romancing many women at once (specifically Mambo No. 5 and I Got a Girl), so if you have strong moral codes, you might want to steer clear. No filthy lyrics or violence here, so if you teens want to buy this one, I would let them. Just keep in mind, it's not squeeky clean stuff and one or two lines in a couple of songs migh make you blush. Tame in comparison to a lot of the stuff out there.
Free Music Review: Alot of fun, but it's all the same. Hit: 2 StarsI liked Lou Bega, his single "Mambo nr 5" was the song of the summer 1999 and brings me alot of memories. "I got a girl" was almost identical but cause of the hype it sold quite well too. "Tricky Tricky" in the other hand was a complete failure and the last thing more or less we heard about him.Lou Bega, made a very original album, he borrowed some old 50's stuff and made some funky danceable pop songs out of it. Nothing wrong with that cause it all worked and was fun...for a while, problem with this Cd is that is all the same. Have you heard a few songs then you know the rest will sound almost the same. When i heard Ricky Martin for the first time i though he would become a one hit wonder aswell with his Latin stuff, but i was wrong. Ricky hooked up with some american song writers and they started writing commercial english pop tunes with some latin influence for him to remain in the spotlight, Lou Bega could have done the same and showed that he was capable of making some diffent stuff too, but he didn't and he was shortly gone for good. Atleast he did his thing and that's a good thing unfortunately these kind of music won't remain on the charts for long.
