Free Music Notes for Forever ChangesFree Music Review: The Best Album of the 60's Hit: 5 Stars
It has been called quintessential, a masterpiece, the great lost gem. Never has an album so encapsuled the tumultuos times we are living than Love's Forever Changes. From the ultimate strums of Flamenco Guitar on Alone Again Or to Sitting on a hillside watching all the people die on The Red Telephone and to facing each day with a smile on You Set The Scene, the listener is hypnotically bombarded with the most fascinating lyrics that seem to forever change with each listen, amazing orchestration, and barrages of electric guitar that influenced oh so many from Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Move, and The Doors to The Ramones, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Robyn Hitchcock, Television, Lenny Kravitz, and Urge Overkill. This album, this band, and Arthur Lee, its leader, deserves to be in the Rock Hall of Fame, and they will be when we stop teething.
Buy this version just to hear it in more ways. Let the re-issues of this classic keep coming and let it Forever Change our lives. Here is hoping for a successful release and an all-encompassing Arthur Lee and Love Box Set in the near future. So we can Keep the same old smile smiling.
Free Music Review: Great reissue, missing only one thing. Hit: 5 Stars
Brilliant reissue, even better than the 2001 reissue. This one adds the previously-unreleased "alternate mix" of the entire album, which is pretty excellent. Certain instruments stick out more in the mix; it's a bit rougher, more intimate -- definitely a worthwhile listen. The bonus tracks that weren't on the 2001 reissue are alright, not terribly necessary. The ONE THING that is missing from this reissue is the FULL LENGTH VERSION of "A House Is Not A Motel". There exists a version in which the Echols twin-guitar solo goes on a good 20 or 30 seconds longer than the original album version. However, this lack is a tiny shortcoming. The reissue as pressed is still a five star release.
Free Music Review: MUST HAVE FOR LOVE FANS Hit: 5 Stars
If you purchased the 2001 reissue of this 60's masterpiece and think that one will do, forget it! This is what is meant by a "Collector's Edition". The second disc is worth the price of admission alone. The instrumental, unorchestrated versions of some of the original tracks are incredible. Sound quality is top notch and new booklet looks gorgeous.
One minor gripe- the booklet, which includes information up to Arthur Lee's recent death, is thinner than the 2001 booklet. Don't let that prevent you from purshasing this version.

Free Music Review: sublime ! Hit: 5 Stars
love "forever changes" is a special album for me, it's a album of the 1968, and it's like you hear for the first time, i adore each track, the track 1 is one of my favourite, the singing is perfect, the texture of the song remains me the best of african choir and the lyrics are very beautiful, the track 3 is also very special for me, i place this album between beatles "sergent pepper" and zombies "odessey and oracles"
Free Music Review: A classic but not timeless. Hit: 4 Stars
This album really defined Arthur Lee's career. Unfortunately, he never could artistically repeat the greatness he achieved on this album. What we have here is another re-issue of "Forever Changes" which essentially is the definitive Love album. From the Spanish influence on "Alone Again Or" to the baroque pop of "You Set The Scene" the album surmised the pop music of the time and made the album so much of its time and not timeless.
The first disc in the 2-disc set contains once again the re-mastered version of the album, which is the same one as the regular re-issue that has been out for some time. Disc 2 has an alternative mix of the album that contains the count-ins and some different vocal takes. Some of the bonus tracks are identical to the single disc re-issue but there is more unissued stuff included.
If you only have the vinyl version of this then this would be a great upgrade but if you have the previous single disc re-issue than stick with that as the extra material may be superfluous. But hey! It's your money.
