Free Music Review: So Awesome!!
Hit: 5 Stars

My french pen-pal recommended this to me and so I bought it and I absolutely ADORE it! First of all the music is just so beautiful and the words are beautiful to listen to even if you don't understand them. Everyone has incredible voices. Especially the guys. Garou has the perfect voice for Quasimodo. Now that I have translated all of the words I love it even more. They are so deep and romantic! "Mourir pour toi n'est pas mourir" is the last line in the last song "Danse mon Esmerelda" and it means to die for you is not to die! What a perfect ending! It is so much better than the Disney version!! My favorite songs are Le temp de cathedrales, la monture and deschire. I really recommend you get this version of Notre Dame de Paris and not the English one because the French one just has so much better lyrics. The lyrics to the English one sound like a bad translation of the French one!!

Free Music Review: I'd recommend this one just as much as the live version.
Hit: 5 Stars

This is the first CD I bought from the three Notre Dameversions. It has since become my favorite highlights/concept album ofany musical I have ever heard. While some people tend to say that the songs are performed not as emotionally here as on the Live version, I just can't say that for Noa and Garou, who are absolutely amazing here. Noa is by far the best Esmeralda I have heard. Most of the other performances are flawlessly perfect in only the studio-recording kind of way. (Although I have to say I think Daniel Lavoie and Patrick Fiori gave better perfomances on the Live version).

I guess you should buy the live album: it's complete and the performances are mostly outstanding. But I can't help recommending this one just as much. I was very disappointed with the Esmeralda on the live version, while after one and a half years of owning this, I still can't stop listening to Noa's Esmeralda.

Free Music Review: Fantastique...
Hit: 5 Stars

This whole musical (opera technically, I believe) is absolutely wonderful, so I'd recommend getting the complete recording or especially the DVD, but this has some of the good songs, though definitely not all. Most of the voices are amazing and definitely perfect for the part, except for Noa. I feel that Helene Segara does a much better job singing Esmeralda's part. I suppose Noa's voice is okay if you like that type of singing, but I don't. That aside, she doesn't sound like the young, hopelessly in love girl that Esmeralda is. She sounds much too old and I don't get much emotion from her voice.
That's pretty much the only dark spot on this CD-- The music is beautiful, most of the singing is superb. I'd recommend getting it even if you don't speak French, because something is lost in the English translation, really.

Free Music Review: love it!
Hit: 5 Stars

this is one musical that's full of passion and affects the listener. it contains beautiful music and song, performed by some of the most awesome singers. (i especially love Bruno Pelletier and Daniel Lavoie. Pelletier's voice is clear and full of presence while Lavoie's voice brings a spine-chilling tone to the character and reveals a downright raw passion at times) The entire show is both provoking and moving. All the characters' thoughts and motives are shown clearly. Some of their inner conflicts are also revealed along the way. There are moments of quiet (like Florence and Ave Maria) and sheer power and energy (La Fete des Fous andLa Cour des Miracles) It's not just some love story being reflected here. This is a show not to be missed.

Free Music Review: Absolutely beautiful
Hit: 5 Stars

The original is always better, other versions maybe be good but it could never do justice to the original. I think, all singers are perfect. My favorite is Daniel Lavoie, at first I didn't like his voice, but then... He has such metal, cold voice, but sometimes gives such gentle notes, that it's just break your heart. All others are perfect. I can't find right words :) But I must say, that Daniel Lavoie and Garou not just singing, they are telling a story with their voices.
In live version I was a litlle disappointed with Helen Segara, she has a stone face, but she sings good. If you want to buy, just buy it, you will not regret. It's not just a musical, it's something beautiful and undescribable.
