As a transplant from the East coast i have had a hard time listening to the Bad R&B radio in Seattle. This album may save me from Seattle's KUBE nonsense. It took researching Amazon for a sugestion(customer bought..) on D'angelo's latest to find this even existed. when i first heard "dance tonight" i wasn't quite sure if i was feeling this new project. granted i was one of the biggest fans of Tony, Toni, Tone; EnVogue; and A tribe called Quest. After purchasing the entire CD however my mind was made up: Lucy Pearl, best R&B CD of the year. This album has the best of all types of music. Dawn's smooth vocals accentuate the track "Good Love" (#7 check it out!!!) I doubt if anyone will be disappointed with the investment. P.S. don't buy this one bootleg!!!Free Music Review: very good

I bought this album for Dance Tonight, and it definitely is the hottest track... But the more I listen, the more the rest of the album grows on me. It's solid, very good start to finish. Not groundbreaking, but I can't help from singing along, snapping my fingers and bouncing when I listen to it. I like this album more with every listen.Free Music Review: A new style

This is a new genre for me. I haven't ever bought recordings by En vogue, A tribe called quest, or Toni Tony Tone. But after hearing "dance tonight", I knew I had to get this cd. If this cd appeals to me, someone who doesn't usually listen to rap, it could appeal to anyone. The vocals fit together, and complete every song. After listening to it a few times, I hardly had to skip a song. I highly recommend this cd!Free Music Review: A little on the commercial side

I would give this 3 1/2 stars if I knew how. This cd is a little on the commercial side for me. I do like the combination of artists. The last time I paid attention to en vogue and 3Ts was late 80's early 90's. I have always loved Quest. I think Everyday, Good Love and Remember the Times are my favs. Hollywood reminds me of R&B meets Led Zep or Black Sabbath. It doesn't come across right. Of course Dance Tonight's radio play sparked my interest in the cd but if you haven't bought it yet and are not sure about it-you'll live.
