Free Music Review: Another fine Ludacris production
Hit: 4 Stars

Chicken n' Beer is another fine production from Ludacris and Def Jam South. True, it lacks some of the creativity and humor that I found and loved in his two previous albums, "Back for the First Time" and "Word of Mouf", but on it's own it stands as another record-breaking album. I do agree with many people that the in-between track skits aren't as original and humorous as they were in "Back for the First Time" and "Word of Mouf". Take for example in "Word of Mouf", the track "Howhere": very funny since Luda and I-20 replace certain syllables with the sound "Ho", followed by the song "Area Codes" which does the same thing. I never knew the word "ho" was so versatile. But in "Chicken n' Beer", the track "Black Man's Struggle" resorts to toilet humor to make it work. While it may be funny to some people (those who think that farting is second heaven), I found it dissapointing to waste an entire track on hearing a man relieving his constipation.

This all said, I give "Chicken n' Beer" 4 out of 5 stars because of it's slight departure in creativity and humor from Ludacris's two previous albums. Still, I think that this CD is a must for those who love rap music.

Free Music Review: Ludacris, "Chicken N Beer"
Hit: 2 Stars

We all know about Bill O'Reilly helping Pepsi to pull its Ludacris ad for his irresponsible rhymes. And we know that Luda was PO'd by it. But it seems as if that's affected his performance on this album. Usually he hits us with humorous lyrics but he sounds more serious on this album. But perhaps he realizes that one-liners can only get him so far so he brings out serious, gangstafied tracks like 'Blow It Out' and 'We Got'. However, he's pretty lame as a serious, gangsta rapper. Also, outside of the Kanye West-produced 'Stand Up' and the Erick Sermon-produced 'Hip Hop Quotables', nothing else on this album stands out at all. I remember listening to "Back for the First Time" and wearing out the rewind button. I also remember listening to "Word of Mouf" in awe. What happened here? What happened to the flow that he possessed on Nas's 'Made U Look' remix, Chingy's 'Holidae In' and Usher's 'Yeah'? Luda's starting to be one of those artists who sounds dope everywhere but on his own albums. I should have spent my money on actual chicken and beer than on this album.

Free Music Review: Entertaining.....
Hit: 3 Stars

Ludacris has the distinction of being known as the funniest rapper in the industry. Songs like "Hip Hop Quoteables" are just that, quoteable. The album features Luda's now famous mix of dis tracks, hoe tracks, club tracks, and weed tracks. For the most part, nothing weighty or introspective just a lot of fun and a lot of funny rhymes. Songs like "Hard Times" wear thin, as well as the guest appearences, with the exception of Snoop. The beats are hit or miss on the album. Some beats are true bangers like the Kanye made, "Stand Up," but some feel like cheap sounding Cash Money beats. "Diamond in the Back," is the most surprising track, with his switched up persona. "Chicken and Beer" doesn't really break new ground for Ludacris, but if you like fun music and don't care about incredibly vulgar lyrics, this is for you.

Free Music Review: I dont understand
Hit: 1 Stars

At what point in time was it ok to enjoy listening to such worthless, and unoriginal music. Oh wait, thats all anyone wants to here. There is seriously not point in having lyrics to the tracks in this album, they're all the same, just placed together differently. I hate the direction "hip hop" is moving towards. Bad music by an even worse arstist, if you can call him that.
