Free Music Review: all hands on Luda's deck!
Hit: 3 Stars

Ahoy, matey! The Long John Silver of rap is back! Chicken N Beer is a great album for sparking the imagination. Personally, I like to picture Ludacris as a swash buckling pirate. Though it be thinner than a peg-leg, I can imagine Captain Luda's One-Eyed Willie swabbing the deck as he walks, his massive Popeye the Sailor forearms leading up to chiseled shoulders; On one of those sweetly sculpted cannon balls is his trusty parrot, who, rather than calling out "pieces of eight! pieces of eight!", squawks "pieces of twelve! pieces of twelve!" As usual, Captain Luda is searching for buried treasure (know what that is?), but rather than keep a map, he has has the directions to the treasure inscribed on his sheep intestine condom. Once a day the call goes out: "All hands on Luda's deck!" and the crew scrambles for a chance to glance at the location of the treasure on the condom. However, no one is allowed to look until the Cap'n has had his way with them, and by that time, the "map" is so covered with mud stains that no one can read it! That's when Luda shouts "Thar she blows!" and sprays them all in the face with his Moby Dick (or The Whale). Afterward, they drink, singing "yo two ho's and a bottle of rum," and forget everything that happened. They crew may occasionally spend an afternnoon in a tight circle squeezing the globs out of whale sperm, but for the most part, each day on Captain Luda's ship is exactly as I described in all its piracy. Chicken N Beer is a fine CD indeed.

Free Music Review: the Long John Silver of rap

Ahoy, matey! The Long John Silver of rap is back! Red Light District is a great album for sparking the imagination. Personally, I like to picture Ludacris as a swash buckling pirate. Free Music Review: Chicken N' Beer
Hit: 5 Stars

In my opinion, this is Luda at his best! A great cd!

Free Music Review: not bad, not great...
Hit: 4 Stars

some songs on this cd r aight, but some songs r just wack.not ludaz best work, even rld is betr, especially since this has the stupid "black man's struggle skit."not worth a listen at all.

Southern Fried Intro -good intro, something luda is good at
Blow it Out -here, luda just spits fire at all of his haters, including bill o'reilly
Stand Up -the cds club-banger, pretty good
Splash Waterfalls -very perverted, some stupid lyrics (doggy and froggy style, shes on your sack and balls/u call her jabberjaw), not that bad though
Hard Times -kind of annoying, but nonetheless not bad
Diamond In The Back -best song on the cd, all about him growing up and stuff. makes u feel bad 4 luda
Screwed Up -funny, but a stupid song (83 f-bombs)
P-Poppin' -SUCKS
Hip Hop Quotables -funny stuff, kinda like bftft's "mouthing off"
Hoes In My Room -very funny, bill o'reilly gets dissed again (Luda 2, O'Reilly 0)
Teamwork -all about 3-somes, pretty strange, funny
We Got -ok, but chingy doesn't persuade me as a thug
Eyebrows Down -not bad, not great (like this album)

again, not that bad, buy if your a ludacris fan but if your buying your 1st luda cd, go 4 back 4 the first time, or word of mouf, or even red light district b4 this. peace.

Free Music Review: Possible To Drop A Weak Album But Gain Respect?
Hit: 3 Stars

Chicken And Beer is not Luda's best album by far. However, this may be the first time I've ever seen an artist drop a weak album that nevertheless has four songs so good it secures his spot in hip-hop for years to come. Luda is one of those rare artists who "ride the beat" and he shows it several times, most notably on the standout single "Stand Up", the blistering "Blow It Out", the sexy "Splash Waterfalls" and the Erick Sermonesque "Hip Hop Quotables". These four songs showcase perfectly the four corners of Luda's musical aura; energy, spit, sex and wit. That's what Luda brings to all his albums, better than ANYONE else in the rap game at this point. The man can blow a track up with energetic but steady flow, ride a track with blistering fierceness, make the track drip wet with sexy detail, and cause the listener to literally ignore a beat (especially if its bad) to catch the witty lyrical gems he drops. With Luda now dropping an album every year, you will be seeing these 4 qualities every fall/winter for a long time. It can only get better with that kind of practice.
