I WAITED A YEAR TO WRITE THIS REVIEW TO SEE IF I WOULD GET TIRED OF LISTENING TO THIS 3 CD SET. NO LUCK. MY BIGGEST PROBLEM IS FINDING A REASON TO CHANGE CD'S. THEY ARE ALL EXCELLENT! (EVEN AFTER HUNDREDS OF HOURS). THE LINERS (THAT INCLUDE THE LYRICS)ARE AN ADDED TOUCH OF CLASS. GRACIS LUIS & EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS WONDERFUL OFFERING. I GUESS I WILL NOW GO BACK TO CD 1. If you are one of those who has come late to Latin music, listen, ditch all your prefab, milquetoast Enrique and Ricky corporate fodder and come to the real thing in Luis Miguel.This 3 CD set collects his phenomenal "Romance" trilogy into one set, and what a deal! While Volumes I & II are the strongest (not a weak cut within either!), III stalls here and there, but all is atoned for when Luis sings "Black Orpheus (Mahna de Carnival))". His is the best vocal version in print except maybe for the out-of-print stylings of Maria Toledo and Luiz Bonfa (1967, Dot Records).
Anyone who has a romantic bone left in them must own this great Miguel collection. Luis is not only a huge voice, he's a fabulous stylist, a star from the 'old school' when men got on stage and caressed an audience with their magnificence and love. Nothing shabby about the production values herein, either. Even the synth fills are classy, and elegance is returned to the overused electric piano. There are also some dynamite orchestral arrangements sprinkled throughout.

He's Awesome! I believe there's nothing more romantic than Spanish lyrics in the incredible voice of Luis Miguel. I've been a huge fan ever since I first heard his music about 6 years ago. He takes beautiful songs that have already been done,and makes them sound like plastic,cheap,wannabe,immitation.I'm trying to figure out what it is that makes him so popular!If you like real romantic music in spanish,try los panchos(whom he attempts to cover)or los dandys.Oh well,music is a personal thing,and I've tryed getting my wife to stop listening to this,but I have been unsuccesful...so there is something to the lads credit!Free Music Review: Luis Miguel in English
