Free Music Review: A good mix of songs - just watch the volume.

Overall, this is a good CD. I play it a lot when I'm with my son at home or on the road. I like how's there's a wide variety of musical styles and cultures represented on the CD. It makes for a nice reprieve from all the "traditional" stuff. There are just a couple of things I dislike about the CD. Being a Japanese American, it sort of bothers me that the makers of this CD couldn't find someone fluent in Japanese to sing the Owayare song. I don't know who the artist is, but she has a very noticeable accent. This is really a minor quibble, however.
What irks me most is that the volume varies substantially from track to track. The first track is very quiet. Then track 2 comes loud! The CD quiets down a bit for the next few tracks. Then the track 7 (featuring Take 6) comes in really loud.
The sudden changes in volume are counterproductive because they tend to startle babies and can make them wake up. You can get around this by 1) making a copy of the CD and leaving out track 7 and/or 2) being mindful of the volume knob when the louder tracks come around. Also, the problem is more pronounced my car than in my home stereo system.
Overall, however, the problems with volume aren't that serious and the CD is still fairly worthwhile. I've listened to it hundreds of times (literally) and am thankful that someone gave it to us.

Many people are deeply indebted to the friend that first played this CD for me. I have rocked my Granddaughter to it nearly a hundred times and we never tire of its beautiful music. Tish Hinojosa's La Nanita Nana would be enough reason to buy this CD but all of the songs are very beautiful.I gave it to several friends in Mexico and everyone that heard it-male and female, adults and children-loved it and wanted copies.

I am 14 years old and ever since I was born, I havent been able to sleep without music playing. I got this CD for christmas when i was probably in about first grade, and it has put me to sleep every single night since then. Any CD that a 14 year old has listened to for over 6 years every night is worth anyone's money. I came online to buy another cd, incase mine ever breaks or gets scratched and i won't be able to listen to it anymore. This CD has saved me from many sleepless nights. This CD is incredibly soothing and could put anyone to sleep. It is a very diverse collection of songs, and everyone should buy it. Not only do i love it but it puts my 2 year old twin cousins and 8 year old cousin to sleep every night too. i give it two thumbs upFree Music Review: Lame attempt

I feel like this CD was thrown together. It is such a good idea and about half of it is wonderful but then there are HORRIBLE songs (That Take 6 song is HORRENDOUS!). I wish they had done a better job and instead of putting 2 Irish songs, maybe included some Russian, Eastern European, Indian, Middle Eastern songs. It is such a good idea in theory but poor execution. I am going to have to make another CD from it that edits out and adds. Annoying when you buy a new CD. There are a lot of choices out there--I would go with one of those other CDs even though you will miss out on a couple good songs on this one.Free Music Review: Mommy loves this CD and so does baby

The music is so beautiful and soothing. I play this CD at our late-night, early-morning feedings by soft light. My son recognizes the music and it calms him. I love listening to it and gazing at my baby as he drifts off to sleep. A must have.
