Free Music Notes for Total Submersion

Free Music Review: Is it 1993 again?
Hit: 5 Stars

If Barry White had grown up in England in the early 80s and listened to Bauhaus, Dead Can Dance, and Debussy might he have been Luna Trick's Dan Staniforth? Luna Trick effectively marries many influences- think trip hop, glam goth, pre- Let's Dance Bowie, Nine Inch Nails industrial and cobbles a sound for guys and girls with big record collections. You might want to wallow for days in self doubt and agonize over the right synonym for inertia, but put down your poetry notebook you've got other things to do. If you think there hasn't been a good record since the first Portishead record you should give this a try. It will fit nicely in between your copy of The Cure's Pornography and Cocteau Twins' Garlands.

Free Music Review: I was totally Submerged....
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is so full of interesting songs, musical diversity, and stunning imagery - it's hard to believe that it's the work of one guy. One minute mellow reflective - then in your face - sometimes catchy and danceable. The lyrics go from historical to poetic frenzy, sometimes utterly mysterious - other times connecting to relevant issues. This should appeal to people who like the new wave revival going on in alternative circles - or those that go for dark and dreamy.

Free Music Review: Totally In Love with Total Submersion!
Hit: 5 Stars

What can I say about Total Submersion? To begin with, if you're looking for a CD that blends rock, funk, indie, and electronic, this is it. Singer, Daniel Staniforth, has a unique, almost vulnerable style, while at the same time; he embraces the roots of new wave in the dark fashion of bands like the Cure. Check out tracks: The Tale of Three Ribbons, Jacobite, The Swimmer & the Siren. You won't go wrong with the rest of the songs either.
