This was Luther's final studio album and he couldn't have ended his career with a more appropriate collection of good music. Dance With My Father is one of Luther's most personal albums and we have been so blessed over the years to have the pleasure of listening to his rich, melodic vocals. He was an immensely talented songwriter, arranger and producer as well. Luther, you will always be one of the jewels in our crown. Now that Luther is gone, this brilliant final album sounds even more impossibly poignant and beautiful, if that's possible - here is hoping that Epic or Virgin or Arista band together to release a new CD of outtakes/lost tracks/etc. to keep Luther's amazing voice, style, and phrasing ALIVE. I am 40+ now, and I can remember back to my early 20's and 30's, going out shopping with my girlfriends, trying to find the perfect outfit to wear to a Luther Concert. It did not matter that he would not see me, but looking good was part of the process of going to a Luther Show. You knew you were in for a night of pure bliss. There is not one concert that I would not attend when he came to Philly. When I heard Friday night about his death, I went into shock mode, and then his music started flowing from radio stations, and I lost it at that moment. I always felt that I would never be able to see him perform again, but I was always looking forward to seeing him appear on tv shows such as Oprah, or attend one of the award shows, but definitely not his leaving us all so soon.
However, you have left us all with so many memories, your music will live on forever and ever. To think how many relationships you have saved, babies that were made, marriages that began, and lives that were forever changed. May GOD bless his Mother and extended family. What a strong woman she is. R.I.P, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

I have most of Luther's music. When I purchased this CD I expected it to sound good, the same as the rest of his music. It sounded just as good as I expected a CD from Luther to sound. It's awesome. I was saddened to hear of his dying. I know that Luther is probably in heaven now dancing with his father.Free Music Review: A Legend Dies
