Free Music Review: My Number One
Hit: 5 Stars

I live in a little village in a small country many thousand miles away from Luther. But from the first day I listened to him singing the song 'Here and Now' many years ago, he has remained My Number One.No male vocalist today can match the sheer talent he was gifted with.

And I especially treasure this 'live album' because I never had the chance to see him perform on stage.Disappointed initially that it wasn't made into a music video, I found that with no visual distractions, the senses are more alert to every word, every pause, every scream in the crowd. To just hear him talk was thrilling. And I was laughing at his jokes!

This album is like Luther's musical history. Opening with 'Never Too Much', the song which catapulted him to fame, then a slower version of 'Here and Now' and then sharing some jokes with Kevin Owens and his
background singers before continuing with the seductive 'Take You Out'.
The ballads 'Love Won't Let Me Wait' and 'superstar' are stunningly beautifully ( there won't be enough adjectives to describe them ) sung as only Luther can do.

The audience was screaming ' We love you Luther' throughout the performance and I felt like doing the same too.By the time he had finished 'If Only For One Night', 'A House Is Not A Home' and 'Glow Of Love' and said "goodnight everybody, thanks for coming" , I was left speechless and breathless as if I was sitting right there in the audience.

It's been two years since he's been gone but he's still My Number One.

Free Music Review: So Amazing....Words Can't Express
Hit: 5 Stars

OK...I might be a little biased here based on the fact that I own every Luther Vandross album every released...Including all the greatest hit collections. I thought that technically and vocally only Luther could outdue his creme de la creme performance in 1989 'Live at Wimbley Stadium'. Guess what, he did!!! In Spades! This album is so incredible that no one...no, let me re-phrase, NO ONE can touch this man. A pure voice like this one only comes maybe once in 100 years. The album I rank a perfect 10 out of 10. To hear Luther in a controlled enviornment like the studio is marvelous but to hear him live in concert is just a speical treat. Highlights on the album include superstar, a house is not a home and my all time favorite love want let me wait. Again, this album is something special. I saw Luther in concert last year Feb. 2002 in Greensboro and I feel truly bless to have seen him. The show was top knotch and Luther's voice was like BUTTA. What I love and respect from Luther is you feel like you get your money's worth everytime you buy his album or go to one of his shows....I can't say that about any other artist today.

Free Music Review: Luther Takes it to the Stage.
Hit: 5 Stars

2003 is the year of the live CD. From Coldplay to Floetry, everybody is getting their live discs out in the fall to rack up pre-Holiday sales. But to call Luther Vandross' "Live at Radio City Music Hall" a mere cash-in would be a severe miscalculation. It's a thoroughly enjoyable 75 minute performance that proves, once again, Vandross is THE man to beat in the game of r&b. If singing live is the ultimate measure of vocal talent, then Luther passes with flying colors. "Live at Radio City Music Hall" cruises through older material as well as his hits from his last two studio albums. While the set omits a few personal favorites ("Don't You Know That" and "Since I've Lost My Baby"), it does include stellar renditions of "Never Too Much," "Stop to Love," "Superstar," and the oft-sampled finale, the classic "Glow of Love." Luther's delivery on these songs is just as good in concert as they are in the studio, and they stand tall as classic samples of old-fashioned r&b stripped of glitter and overproduction. "Live at Radio City Music Hall" is a standard by which all live CDs should follow

Free Music Review: This Live CD Will Truly Move You
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been a great fan of Luther Vandross for nearly two decades and can honestly say that this CD will NOT leave any fan of Luther's disappointed. This live version of (some) of his greatest hits will touch you in ways you'd never thought Luther could do. My favorites are "Here and Now" "Creepin'" "I'd Rather" and the always favorite and mind-blowing "House Is Not a Home" - his signature song. Luther's vocal talents on each and every song will give you goosebumps!

Trust me when I say that this CD is worth every penny you spend! The only downside is that this should have been a 2-CD set. (I've seen Luther 3 times in concert and he has many more hits than what you hear on this live one.)

Regardless, Luther is "One In A Million" and will ALWAYS be the ORIGINAL SILKY-SMOOTH VELVET TEDDY BEAR of R&B Soul! We love you Luther!

i'm writing to express my opinion on this album.

once again luther vandross the best singer[male]in the world.the quality of the sound is truly perfect, the singing is right on time.i love the background singers and greatness they give us whenever they perform and then there is the band, what can i say, they give it to you and more.i hate that i missed this live taping but listening to gives you the since of being there.the way the fans are inter acting with luther is just like being there.i know from catching luther each time he came to miami or surrounding areas,he gives it to you with a little more and he sounds just like the record,i can say this again about this album.when you purchase this album be prepared to sing and dance.
