Free Music Review: Mr. Lovett's done it again!

I have been a fan of Mr. Lovetts for at least 10 years and am never disappointed in any of his CD's and this one is no exception. Some of the songs are repeated in this selection and at first I questioned this, however after listening to this CD a few times you realize that the arrangements are slightly different and in some cases the lyrics are sung to different melodies entirely, which gives the whole song a completely different feel to it. I would recommend this CD to anyone who is a fan of country or even blues music.Free Music Review: Poetic Funk

The depth of Lyle's music, his commitment to perfection, and his association with some of the greatest muscians, all conspire to make another fantastic recording. Although a late-comer, I am now an ardent admirer. His music trancends genre and label. I have never considered myself a "country" fan, but Lyle's style and class put is music a genre of its own.
Not to mention it is some of the most poignantly romantic music ever recorded.

It you like Lyle Lovett you may as well buy this now. Mostly new songs. Very good musicians including Francine Reed. Several other really good harmony vocalists and a band to die for. Billy Williams produced it; what is not to like? It just cooks thru all twelve cuts. If you are over 50 just buy it and enjoy it. Leave all that stealing stuff off the internet to the youngsters. L-squared back in swingin' form (although as usual he touches many musical genres throughout) w/ the large band accompanying him every step of the way. I CAN NOT stop listening to this CD. Lyle is grand in any form but I enjoy him best when the music he makes is w/ this superb group of musicans and singers.....A MUST BUY for any true fan of the tall Texan!!

Lyle Lovett is my idea of the consummate "cool" musician. This record is a continuation of his masterful talents. On this outing, he gives the band free rein to work out on jazz, and, like other Texas musicians, defies any one category. In the words of his friend, Townes van Zandt, music is either good or "zip a dee doo dah". This is good. Keep it up, Lyle, we love you!
