Free Music Notes for Natural Forces

Free Music Review: Another very solid effort
Hit: 4 Stars

Lyle Lovett is one of the most consistent artists I can think of - I can't think of any misstep over his 20-year career. With that consistency comes a certain sameness in his work, but that's hardly a fault with work as solid as Natural Forces. This album mixes some self-written songs combined with covers of great texas songwriters. In this collection, the highlights are his covers of Townes Van Zandt's "Loretta" and Eric Taylor's "Whooping Crane."

I tend to enjoy Lovett's gospel-based songs best, and this is a fairly straight-forward country record, but it's a strong one. Recommended.

Free Music Review: Give this album a listen
Hit: 4 Stars

Lyle's new album is reminiscent of some of his past work but adds a feeling that an artist can only achieve with age and experience. You still get his trademark voice and sound but a list of new songs and a killer band that keeps it tight all the way to the end. Wonderful album and beautiful artwork on the cover and sleeve, definitely a must have for any Lyle fan. Natural Forces is just the next step in Mr. Lovett's journey and will keep me content until he takes his next.

Free Music Review: I like it, I LOVETT, I want some more of it!
Hit: 4 Stars

Having seen Lyle in concert twice and owning all of his previous releases, I was anxious to hear his new tunes. While not his best, it is certainly a treat for any Lyle Lovett fan. On this disc, he includes several songs which are not his own but written by compadres' such as Robert Earl Keen. I've only listend to the CD twice and don't have a favorite song yet, but I'm sure I'll never tire of Lyle's lyrics and Texas tunes!

Free Music Review: Lyle's still an original
Hit: 4 Stars

I love Lyle and finally saw him in person - WOW! that is all I can say. He appeared with John Hiatt, another hero of mine, and it was like sitting in their livingroom watching two old friends pass the time. Lyle is a rare star, one who remained original. Thanks, Lyle.

Free Music Review: Good CD. Bad smelling package!
Hit: 4 Stars

Bought this CD without the shrink wrap. CD jacket made of cardboard and smelled very badly of smoke. Seller offered refund, but it was right before Christmas, so there was no time to purchase another one.
