Free Music Review: Amazing Sound Quality
Hit: 5 Stars

I admit I hadn't heard this material since I owned it on vinyl back in the late 70s. Hearing these CDs, I was blown away.

First, the sound quality: Normally, digital technology reveals analogs imperfections. The liner notes claim the 2" master was baked and fed through a vintage analog mixer. Whatever they did, this is one of the warmest, richly textured and best mixed live albums ever. It even makes my stock Tahoe stereo sound like a Levinson.

Next, Ronnie my buddie....on the original albums, due to time, they cut short many of the 20-40 second intros he does. But these CDs have it all. Hearing these for the first time, after knowing the music so well, added much to the enjoyment.

Lastly, about the band overall. In today's climate of over marketed, hyped-up cheezy artist, I cannot believe how many quality tunes this band put out in 4 albums and under 4 years. I can't think of another group that was as prolific.

Run, don't walk to get these CDs.

Free Music Review: Buy This CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

Having seen Skynyrd blow the Who right off the stage in 1973 this album audibly shows what they could do. You can feel it. Southern Shmuthern! It's Rock and Roll at it's best. If you didn't know where they were from you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. People get hung up on this southern rock thing. BFD!! These guys worked to get where they got and are anything but mediocre. I've read the same thing about the Beatles.. that they were mediocre at best! Yeah right!!
This album throws you back in the seat from the moment you drop the needle in the groove. I've worn out vinyl copies, thrown many 8 track copies out the window of my car, more vinyl and cassette and have the original release of this on CD (that sucks) and now this. If you are going to buy only one Skynyrd album, make it this one. They never put on a bad show!! Not even the lineup that is playing today!! They can still smoke any band right off the stage!!

Free Music Review: Skynyrd at Their Peak
Hit: 5 Stars

From it's original release, One More From The Road has been considered among the best live albums available. It's certainly at the top of my list. This is the record that really catapulted Skynyrd to the top of the heap, and it captures the energy that made them such an outstanding live act. This 25th anniversary edition has some great modifications. The tracks have been reconfigured to match the original set list, including the additions of 'Simple Man' and 'Gimme Back My Bullets'. It also has all of Ronnie Van Zant's between song banter. So this is now the definitive document of Skynyrd at their peak. The double CD set is filled out with alternate takes of several songs (the album was complied from 2 shows at the Fox Theater in Atlanta). These alternate takes (and the alternate between song banter) are interesting, but not essential. Overall, it's as good as it gets. I'd give it more stars if I could!!!

Free Music Review: Twenty-five years on, Skynyrd rock lives!
Hit: 5 Stars

Having the original vinyl album along with the Allmans live at the Fillmore, the Who live at Leeds and Bob Marley live at the Lyceum, I was so thrilled to buy them all again in the expanded editions, Lynyrd Skynyrd had always been my ace in the hole, even when we compared albums in the seventies.
I bought the re-issued "One more.." and have just been blown away. All the songs sound fresh and new, the quality is as good as my original album (no digital flatness allowed), and I cried again when I thought of the plane-crash, I don't wonder what they might have sounded like now, I just feel that this quality of playing would never be bettered, the additional tracks, and extra bits between tracks make the concert come to life in my own house, especially played loud!
Buy this album, play Lynyrd Skynyrd to your friends, kids, parents, who-ever, don't let this pass you by. Love and peace!

Free Music Review: the greatest live rock music album ever
Hit: 5 Stars

one more from the road is amongst my favourite live albums along with allman brothers band's live at fillmore east, the outlaw's bring it back alive and foghat's decades live.this fabulous live album was recorded at the fox theater in atlanta in 1976 by this great southern rock band which had a triple lead guitar lineup composing of Allen Collins,Gary Rossington and Steve Gaines with the great Ronnie Van Zant on vocals.this double album features blistering performances of skynyrd classics like saturday night special, simple man, tuesday's gone, gimme three steps, sweet home alabama and a fantastic rendition of T for Texas and the immortal rock anthem Free Bird.the band absoltely smokes during this concert.disc two contains alternate versions of these classics.very highly recommended along with a dvd of Free Bird the movie a live concert in Herfortdshire,England.
