Free Music Review: In a League of its Own Hit: 5 Stars
The first album from Lynyrd Skynyrd is truly a classic rock legend. In what other other 80 minutes of music can you find classics such as tuesdays gone, give me three steps, simple man, and of course, free bird? You just have to enjoy music to enjoy skynyrd's first. They know how to make an excellent song, they know how to create meaningful lyrics, and most importantly, they know how to rock out.If you are looking for a band that is up there with Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd as some of the greatest bands of all time, then go buy this album.
Free Music Review: Quintessential Southern Rock Hit: 5 Stars
Yes, yes, yes this is the one album you need to have even if your having more than one. Songs like "Things goin on" and "Missippi Kid" just don't make it on to them compilation albums. If you miss them you miss some of the reasons that Ronnie Van Zant's voice was so perfect and respected in this genre. Real root music right out of the South. This will take you from some sweet mandolin and Honky Tonk piano to soaring guitar licks all in 45 minutes or so. See where some of the copy cats got their inspiration. Gotta get it!!
Free Music Review: Hit me like a ton of bricks.... Hit: 5 Stars
I well remember listening to Beaker Street on the old AM radio powerhouse KAAY out of Little Rock back in '73 and hearing "Simple Man" for the first time--this was my introduction to Skynyrd. The next day at school I was telling anyone who'd listen about this great new band I'd heard and about their funky name. Shortly afterward, again on Beaker Street, I heard "Tuesday's Gone" and "Freebird" and that was that--I had to get this album.Get this disc, take off your shoes, crack open a cold one and boogie down southern style.
Free Music Review: A classic Hit: 5 Stars
Great Album, Freebird ROX! This is one of Skynyrd's Best Albums, Classic Skynyrd through and threw, not any of the boring "Vicious Cylcle" crap that Johnny wrote. I should mention that the viewer who gave this album 1 star (Himo Pohonen) never gave any of the items he has reviewed more than 3 stars. He is clearly biased and only likes Led Zeppelin(Not that liking Led Zeppelin is a bad thing, thier cool). Buy this album, Second Helping, or 1 More for the road, stay clear of any Skynyrd album made past 1987.
