A more perfect album is hard to find. This disc earned Lynyrd Skynyrd a permanent home in my top 5 most rockin bands ever. The others are AC/DC, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and GN'R. Skynyrd though stands alone because they represent southern rock for me, opening doors for Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, and even like Charlie Daniels and stuff. They have a wide range and a sound all their own.
THIS IS THE BEST GETTIN' DRUNK AND JUST LETTIN' IT ALL OUT ALBUM AVAILABLE, AND WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST IN THE SKYNYRD CATALOUGE. EVERY SONG SMOKES.
I AIN'T THE ONE: Funky, twangy riff. Ronnie is rappin' off some crazy chick that reminds me of my baby's mama.
TUESDAYS GONE: Ever since I was a kid I've known this one. Ballad song, train roll on.
THREE STEPS: Awesome. I wish I was in a band again, I want to sing this one.
SIMPLE MAN: Another ballad, recently covered on the radio by someone. The new one doesn't touch this version.
THINGS GOIN' ON: A lot of bass in this one. It swings.
MISSISSIPPI KID: Very cool, acoustic, mouth harp, pistol sound fx. I love a woman who was raised up on that corn bread. At least I wish I did.
POISON WHISKEY: Another strait rocker. Kicks a lot of ace.
FREE BIRD: FREEEEEEE BIIIIIIRD!!!! In case you don't know this song is worth the admission. Great lyrics, great ballad, insane extended guitar solos at the end that will melt your face off. FREEEEEEEE BIIIIIIIRD!!!!!!!
Yeah, so get this one, for sure.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of my favorite bands, and on their debut album "Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd", they prove why. of course the track that stands out is the concert classic "freebird" 9 minutes of brilliance. this album is filled with skynyrd classics like "Simple Man", "Tuesday's Gone" and of course "Gimme Three Steps". this album easilly gets 5 starsFree Music Review: A classic

Great Album, Freebird ROX! This is one of Skynyrd's Best Albums, Classic Skynyrd through and threw, not any of the boring "Vicious Cylcle" crap that Johnny wrote. I should mention that the viewer who gave this album 1 star (Himo Pohonen) never gave any of the items he has reviewed more than 3 stars. He is clearly biased and only likes Led Zeppelin(Not that liking Led Zeppelin is a bad thing, thier cool). Buy this album, Second Helping, or 1 More for the road, stay clear of any Skynyrd album made past 1987.
