Free Music Notes for Skynyrd's First: The Complete Muscle Shoals AlbumFree Music Review: Awesome Rare Skynyrd Tracks! Hit: 5 Stars
I don't own this album, but from what I can hear from the previews, it sounds amazing! I think that before Al Kooper met the band and added all sorts of keyboard arrangements to the songs, there was a nicer, more raw sound to the music, and this album definately portrays that sound beautifully. If I could own this album, I would, it sounds amazing! If you are a true skynyrd fan, or even just wanting to get into their music for the first time, this is the perfect album for you! BUY IT NOW!!
Free Music Review: Great Drafts of Classic Hits Hit: 5 Stars
If you're a collector of Southern Rock and enjoy early versions of songs that became huge hits, then don't pass this one up. I have every Skynyrd LP, plus the original version of this album, but this album has songs on it that aren't even close to anything on the other albums. "White Dove," a Rickey Medlocke tune on this album, is hillarious to listen to, just because it sounds so unlike Skynyrd. He sings with a high falsetto, sort of like sixties bubble gum rock.
Free Music Review: Tied For Skynyrd's Best Hit: 5 Stars
Along With SECOND HELPING, STREET SURVIVORS, ONE MORE FROM THE ROAD, PRONOUNCED, NUTHIN FANCY, GIMME BACK MY BULLETS, and FREE BIRD, this is one of Lynyrd Skynyrd's eight best albums. True, the sound and playing are a little rough, but don't forget, the group was just developing its style at this point. Some of the songs would turn up in even better versions on other albums, but these early sessions provided the blueprint for what was to come.
Free Music Review: Wow. Just Wow. A Must for ALL SKYNYRD FANS!! Hit: 5 Stars
If you are looking for a HiFi sounding "Remastered" CD that sounds like it was recorded after 2000 then keep looking. But if you are looking for the true heart and soul, the true talent that they had BEFORE they got big then BUY IT! I love listening to the songs the way they wrote them before they polished them up.
Anyway, for the price its a steal. BUY IT. YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Free Music Review: C'mon, Amazon! Get it right! It's ALLEN Collins! Hit: 5 Stars
Amazon's review says "While ongoing personnel shifts are in evidence (only Ronnie Van Zant, Albert Collins, and Gary Rossington from the classic lineup appear throughout)..." Hello! It's ALLEN Collins, not Albert. Allen Collins was a white rock guitarist. Albert Collins was a black blues guitarist. Kinda hard to confuse the two if you know anything about music.
