Free Music Review: Tribute to A Classic Era An Instant Classic? Maybe
Hit: 5 Stars

I have heard other musicians attempt to recapture the experience of being a teen in the mid-80s, and it usually sounds like cheesy outdated material. But this album blends the old with the new and succeeds in creating a modern-sounding retro project. For example the song Kim and Jessie arguabley would have been a radio smash hit right along side tunes by Psychadelic Furs or Simple Minds back in the day, yet, it embraces a very modern sound as well and sounds up to speed with current music. Anyone in their teens and twenties will connect with the indie sounds and feel of the songs, yet, anyone in their thirties will immediately be raptured back to memories of roller rinks, trench coats and of course John Hughes flicks. The album walks the line between generations, and balances it all just right.

Free Music Review: Cannot stop listening...
Hit: 5 Stars

Coming from someone who is currently stealing internet, to take the rare time I get writing a review on Amazon means a lot about this album. I first heard "We Own the Sky" and immediately looked them up, or I should say him since it's a one man band and immediately loved everything else I heard. This album feels like it came out of the 80s but a little fixed up with today's sounds. Every single song on this album is original and great to listen to (except for "Up", I simply cannot get into it). I am trying to think of something different to say about this that has not been said in other reviews and all I can say is two things..

1) You will LOVE this album, that simple
2) Look up the older albums and buy those too.

Free Music Review: French Electronica doesn't get any more Epic then M83
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok how do i start. Beautiful album. i just love this album i cant stop listening to it. They really have captured a sound that is uniquely there own. The music is different which was what kept me listening. After listening to the album front to back i went & bought all there CD's and haven't looked back. M83 is probably the best Electronica band out there and defiantly one of my favorite bands. This may sound weird but listening to this album in the Fall season just evokes a great feeling and emotion in me. wow just buy this CD!

Best tracks:
You appearing
Kim & Jessie
Graveyard girl
Couleurs
We own the sky

Free Music Review: M83 on a nice day
Hit: 5 Stars

Despite the popularity of "Graveyard Girl," I found it to be one of the weaker tracks on the album. While still a nice fit for M83, other tracks such as "Couleurs," "Skin of the Night," and "We Own the Sky" remind us why we fell in love with M83 in the first place. Saturdays=Youth seems as if it was created on a warm, sunny day. I love sunny days too, but I can't wait until Gonzalez & Co. awake to thunderstorms again like they did with "Dead Cities,Red Seas, & Lost Ghosts" and "Before the Dawn Heals Us.

Still it is a brilliant album, and the only thing better than listening to Saturdays=Youth is listening to it live.

Free Music Review: Wish Saturdays=Everyday
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought Saturdays=Youth on the first warm day after a brutal winter and listened to it at work. Now, I really like my job - but by about the 5th track, it was impossible for me to fight the overwhelming need to spend the rest of the afternoon walking outside aimlessly with headphones on. That's the best way I can describe the album - the warm synths, great 80s-inspired vocal lines and overall huge sound feel like the first day of spring. Open up all the windows, blast this and feel awesome.

*I like almost all the songs, but Skin of the Night and Until the Night is Over are my current favorites.
