Free Music Review: Pleaseant and Steady Album
Hit: 4 Stars

As a huge Madonna fan, I find a feeling of disappointment and at the same time, relaxation. The first time I listened to this album, was a nice walk on the beach. The R+B sounds and flavors mix well enough to make the album very steady. Though it does get slow at times, (Incredible, or Spanish Lesson in my opinion), it proves that Madonna isn't going anywhere. Besides it being relaxing, it seems Madonna takes on a new role or personality every album, and in Hard Candy, she's just herself, doing her own thing. Check out the song review below.

Candy Shop 3/5

Though this being one of my favorite songs on the album, I just felt like it could of had more to it. It's as if the song was incomplete on release. Though catchy and fun, her voice reminds me too much of her early days, very thin and squeaky. I think the producers could of added some effects to make the song more dynamic.

4 Minutes 4/5

The hit song, that's the talk of the town is indefinitely, a very danceable tune. I felt as if the chemistry was almost forced between Madonna and Justin Timberlake, and the vocals and pitch were too low for her to sing. I like the song, because of it's urban feel. I really think it's brave for Madonna to pull off something like this.

Give It 2 Me 5/5

In my opinion, this is a song that has to grow on you. I actually didn't like it at first, but as I played it to myself, or heard it on the radio, the beats, the flow, and just the whole lyrical style of the song started to flow with me. I think it's very well lyrically written if you pay attention to the lyrics.

Heartbeat 4/5

This is a great song overall, it's one of my favorites, but to break it down, it's very reminiscent of her former beats, and it's nice nostalgia for her older fans, if remembering her early recordings.

Miles Away 2/5

Though an international single (except in the U.S.), I really did not find it's beat and tempo appealing. I love ballads and slow types of songs, but for some reason this just put me to sleep. It's an alright song, but more of an album-filler than anything else.

She's Not Me 4/5

An excellent song, with a catchy tune, and single-able chorus. I love this track, because to me, it's Madonna confronting her past personalities, but also it confronts all the wannabe legends out there in the pop industry. This is just an in-your-face type of song that really can be a great encore in one of her concerts.

Incredible 3/5

Again, this is a song that you have to let it grow on you. At first, It wasn't really entertaining, until I kept listening to it. Honestly, it could of been better. It could of been an excellent song, but there's too much unnecessary effects. This song is less than memorable.

Beat Goes On (Featuring Kanye West) 1/5

The chorus is nothing close to catchy, and at one point, it almost gets annoying after a while. Honestly, the song goes on way too long than it should.

Dance 2night 5/5

This is one of my favorite songs out of the album. It's catchy, it's sweet, and it's plain fun. Though it has a rather slower tempo than the
rest of the album, it's pure fun. The only down side to this, is that Madonna's voice sounds quite shrill during the chorus. The lyrical arrangement is impeccable.

Spanish Lesson 1/5

This is another flop on her album. I think the song was inevitably unnecessary. The lyrics were just plain corny, and it really gave me a, "Is she going senile?" feeling.

Devil Wouldn't Recognize You 4/5

A great song, again, one of the best. I honestly think this is out of Madonna's genre, and it adds so much to the album. This is an unexpected move from Madge, and I love it!

Voices 5/5

To me, it is almost a sequel to Devil Wouldn't Recognize You. I found the two very similar. Again, this is also very dynamic. Though not that catchy, this is probably one of the only songs on this album that shows what she's made of vocally. A great end to the album.

Ring My Bell (Bonus Track) 5/5

I wish this was on the album so badly. This could of made an awesome single. It's catchy, it's danceable, and it could of made a great single in the clubs.
